How would I go about starting my own server?

I'm fifteen and will soon have a nice pc with good specs, I don't really know anything about computers but I want to learn.
Where could I find the place/guides that could teach me?
And, yeah, I want to start a server of my own in the next few years. What exactly do I need to do? Or at least, need to begin?

Suggestions: Playing + Running a server on the same computer is not recommended. Also, make sure your home connection can handle it, private hosting is kinda pricy.
