One of our main goals is to improve Ragnarok Online general experience, this means that we will focus on all the game aspects like PvP, PvE, Lore and such...

We want to clarify that Legends of Midgard is not oriented to a specific mode only. We want to improve the game as a whole, keeping every game feature fresh and fun as it was intended on the beginning.

Said that we will proceed to explain our basic aspects and some special features:



One of our main goals is to keep the fun aspect of the game while giving players a challenging experience at the same time so we decided  x3/x3/x7 rates for normal monsters and x3/x3/x3 rates for boss monsters are the best for this situation. Mini-Boss cards will have a x2 Drop Rate and MVP cards will have a x1 Drop Rate.

Regarding Drop Rates behavior, we will use a Binomial function to resemble a more accurate drop chance instead of the normally used Linear function. This is how the said function works:

Drop Rate = 1 - (1 - X ) ^ Y
Where X is the original drop rate (in decimals) and Y is the drop modifier (which is 7 in our server).

This will give a chance of getting an item as if you would have killed it 7 times in an official server (x1). The reason behind this is because having a Linear behavior for the drop rates grants a huge amount of items to reach 100% drop chance, which is really bad for the game's economy in the long term. This alternative will soften it enough to not depend on nerfing the selling value of commonly farmed items such as Witherless Roses, Royal Jellies and Great Natures. Obviously, the server will also have Zeny sinkers to support the economy


When we talk about a Classic/Pre-Trans server, we usually associate it with EP 7. However, a big disadvantage of starting on that episode is that the game's content can feel short and repetitive, not mentioning there are a lot of servers running this episode, that is why we decided to start on EP 8.1 Einbroch / Einbech mixing classic/transcendent content.

As said before, this will be an "Ongoing server", so we will be constantly updating episodes. It's important to clarify that we will not implement advanced jobs or at least not now, so when a new episode comes out, we will adapt it contents to pre-trans. Interesting right?



In order to keep the gameplay as pure as possible, we will try to keep a low quantity of Quality of Life NPCs, offering only essential and necessary ones, this means that we're not going to use NPCs such as "Warper, Healer and Job Changer". To adapt some basic NPC functions we're going to develop new systems or items to accomplish the same function while keeping the interface as simple as possible, for example, to bring a Reset Service we can use an Item such as the Neutralizer (This is just an example). Said this we pretend to have the following custom systems: Reset Service and Build Managing.

Regarding Job quests, we know repeating this task can be boring for some veteran people while some can love doing them that's why we're working on a new system to keep this quests fun where the player can learn some job basic aspects while understanding their role on the world without erasing the classic ones.



Multiclient: We decided to limit it to 2, this way we ensure social playing while solitary players can enjoy too.
Party experience: we want to encourage people to party up so we will give bonus experience when a party reaches a certain amount of members. Party members will be limited to 12.
Anti Cheat and Security: We will use Gepard Shield since it's the best shield system nowadays. Also, LGP (Light graphics plug-in) will be included. Remember that CHEATS ARE NOT ALLOWED, not even AutoHotkey or AutoPot external programs.
Server Time Zone: Denver, (GMT-6)
Host: We will use OVH since it's one of the best anti-DDoS hostings, also it has a great ping with most parts of America/Europe. Naturally, the game/web server will be protected with anti-DDoS and injections.
Donations: In order to keep our servers online and upcoming content fresh we will implement a donation system with fair items and costumes, always keeping the server NO PAY TO WIN.
Commands: @autotrade, @request, @duel, @mi, @ii, @refresh, @whosells, @time, @rates, @lgp, @afk, @arealoot.
Autoloot: It lets you pick items in a 3x3 area around the picked up item.



Champion Monsters System.
This is a renewal feature we thought would be interesting to bring to the server since it gives common maps some sort of boss monster which players can try to defeat for better exp and/or drop chances. Obviously, we don't intend to use the same monsters as in renewal so we made our own versions, which portrays a pre-renewal balance regarding stats. These monster will have a slightly different behavior than their renewal counterpart and there may be some changes in the drop items as well.

Skill Changes
In order to diversify class content, we decide to modify some skills of some jobs.
Since this is a big change and some classes had an important playstyle re-work we will explain it in a different post.

Updated Client/improved UI
Refining UI: Refining was never so easy.


Character selection: Can create both sex characters, you have more slots and better organization.


Improved World map & Navigation System: We worked on the Navigation System to fit our necessities, pathing info and monsters were added and organized. World map was re-designed to improve the game experience.


Party Unit Frames: Better control and Party organization, direct buff to avoid mistakes.


Quest Log: Easier to understand and simple.


RodEx: Improved mail system with an easier interface.


Items descriptions & InfoBox:
We have developed a new description system for better understanding and a more clearer description. The InfoBox system was developed to bring Tips and Info about the game and server, it is intended to work as an In-Game Wiki.


Adventure Hall (Detailed information coming soon)
The main purpose of this system is to improve the known Eden Group, bringing better missions and tasks while expanding the game Lore with custom content interacting with the players to give the players more and better playing experiences while they're exploring Midgard.
