The memories of a guild...

Hi, i'm kinda new to this forum. just wanted to share some thoughts...

Started playing RO the last... humph... 7-8 years? i can't clearly remember. had on off times working and studying. started knowing RO when a roommate of mine was hitting porings in pron_fld... official server. it got my attention when the up level sound was heard. for a moment that is. then ignored it as usual.

next few weeks noticed a the friend starting to stop hitting stuff, but rather spending more time chatting. the friend was a sin... and the chatting partner was a priest, and for the first time i realized how cute  the characters were. the friend said that the priest was a college friend... and a real girl too! wallah, my interest sparked off.

to be franks... my first id was female. i truly liked the cute headgears. but made sure i declared my real gender since i was mingling around my friends friend. barely got up to lvl 10 when they all moved to a private server. better suited me since money was not an available item at the time.

so we all started out playing a private Malaysian based server. first things first made a female char, a hunter by the name of kucikucikoo. ended up hitting porings till level 60 (no one guided me at the time). got laughed at by the others once they found out. was introduced to another friend... never met him before but he gave me 20m!!! you can't imagine how it felt with only 10k zeny for newbies. instantly went shopping!!! bought some armor and healing items. felt big and rich!!!

after getting all of the female chars to 99, made a male acc... and thus made DeathStrifer, a sniper. if you noticed i really love these long range chars. its the only char i can really play solo anyway. it wasn't easy getting into my friends guild. most of them were so strong and powerful it surely intimidated me. they were the top guild in that server and whats more they can easily conquer 2 out of 3 castles. at that time god items were a rarity and only castle conquerors had a chance... and even that the rate was crazily low.

in the end figured out the best way to enter this guild... i'd make a sniper that is able to immobilize emp breakers during war. in other words an agi type + luk. using status cards... and intelligently laying out traps... sure won them over and wallah... i was an official member of the Dominion guild!!! felt almost like getting a distinction.

the guild was rough on me at first since i was a newbie. bad mouthing, verbally abused and at times not invited to pvp parties. but as skills were sharpened and experienced gained... was accepted as a true loyal member. one of the team.

at one time our guild leader went away for studies... and the guild fell in shambles. at somehow... coincidentally? the rate of godly item drops increased a hundred fold. mere coincidence or just plain biased... is anyone's guess. the server admin did dislike us so much... what he didn't realize is it was because of us that his server became popular. everyone wanted to kill a Dominion member. walk alone in a pvp room and you'd be hunted like a fox. i don't want to talk about donation... it just pisses me off at how ungrateful some people can be.

talked with some members... we regularly hold gatherings... almost each weekend at one time. as simple as loitering at a cafe up to making a barbecue or having dinner at restaurants. we became close... and became true friends. but since i started working... it became hard to get online. they wanted to rebuild the guild since the server just updated... and we revived the guild again.

had to spend some amount getting back items. at one time we had an arsenal of god items after years of guild wars, but as usual i'd be playing a supportive char. nowadays mostly wiz. we once again dominated the server... and  noticed other strong guilds were popping up like mad at the same time. surprisingly, most of them were lead ex-Dominions! we welcomed the challenge. and prevailed. our allies too were getting strong. and now once again Dominion is back in the shadows.

the server is slowly making us lose interest. /w reveals 1500++ players but everyone know most are just venders (@autotrade) and possibly bots despite admin claiming no bots are possible, we think its BS!!). the servers forum was closed down a few years back. possibly because the admin was too busy counting his cash from donations, and another possibility is he cant cope with the massive complaints. not many GM's are around. the old GMs were either sacked or quit. some just plainly fed up with the admins profits... and not sharing the pie.

but whatever it is, we remain friends and at each opportunity i get, we'd hang out. some now study, some work and myself set up my own business. friends will remain friends... maybe we'll just find another server to play, or maybe we'll just live our lives and remember we were once bonded by the best guild ever.

and yeah, i stopped playing that server since last year(2008) because to concentrate myself for the upcoming SPM. But dude, my friends in that server, ahhh miss them like crazy..
