History
RareRO Started around 2009 August by Vylet & Kaiz(me).
Before that, we already have RareRO running just for the two of us then we decided to make it online and let other ppl in.
At first, we didn't intend to add donation items, we didn't know how it is to run a server that time.
We started adding donations after seeing we need to buy ads, security stuffs, etc etc, stuffs that we can't just buy easily with our own money.
Every since RareRO started, once a while we are like fated to face different kind of issues.
First was when someone hacked in to some npcs and made some items. We fixed the server by hunting these items 1 by 1 and retrieving them. Back then, we have around 20ppl average online(without vendors) so it wasn't that hard to do.
After that, we made a topic to fund for security shield, because turns out we need it so it won't happen again.
And it didn't happen again.
The next big tragedy was when a trusted GM lost his hope, he thinks the server would die so he wanted to help it die faster, he summoned monsters for certain people etc, not caring for the server anymore.
Again, we traced those and retrieved them back.
That was like more than a year ago, and the server is still alive and kicking.
After that, we managed to prevent many other suppose to be big tragedies.
Over the years, we learned a lot of things. Improved this and that.
Even though we came up with issues which results in reduce of players before, we tend to never give up.
One of this issue was when, guilds left because a certain guild owns at WoE and too good they can't beat it anymore. We stood up, and said that's how it goes. Waited for some guild to come out and own them.
It happened, someone came, built a guild and owned the previous owning guild. Till then, more good guilds comes to the server, but of course leavings ones can't be helped. I guess that's all I can summarize for now, thank you for reading!


When you are looking for a server
When some people are looking for a server, they tend to ask themselves a few questions.
1. Will this be my server forever? I tend to ask these myself, and if it will be my server forever, will it last forever?
My answer to that is that, we'll try our best, we will not give up like how we always do, so it will last forever.
2. Are the Staff Corrupt?
I define that as a certain staff or the whole staff is abusing their powers by giving a lot of items to themselves(when playing normal character), and probably out of usual items like GM items not only to themselves but to their friends or people they like.
We don't do those kind of stuffs. Sometimes we like to think that we are normal players, and play normally, we hunt our own stuffs and do normal stuffs. That to improve the server by letting ourselves know how it is to be a player of RareRO. It usually never last longer than a week since we are so busy managing the server.
3. Are the donation items not over powered?
In our server, we tend to implement items that are not over powered, even quest items can beat donation items. You can see a proof of that in our RMS Page, just look at the reviews http://ratemyserver.net/index.php?page=serverstat&serid=7697&url_sname=Rare%20RO&page_num=1.

4. What's up with RareRO right now?
This question is for new and old players.
Currently, RareRO is in Halloween Mode where in the custom main down is Halloweenfied, Login Screen, Loading Screens, Website, and even Events.
You can consider November is dangerous, because in Main Town Halloween monsters are usually coming out.
Not only in main town, even in PvP rooms, BG rooms, places where people usually go.
5. So what is the main feature on RareRO?
I don't know really lol, basically we added a lot of stuffs that I can't think of what is the main feature.
Even at this post, I haven't told a lot of other features. But I'll be adding them up later on when i get more time. Been busy these days on RareRO.
6. It is an old server, why should I play?
I have a lot of reasons why you should play RareRO.
First is that we have experience with dealing with many issues since we encountered a lot for the past years.
If you are thinking that there are probably a lot of old well equipped players and you will find it hard to fight them, I'd say if you read the history, the previous owning guilds was owned(usually) by new guilds who started without anything. A lot of players did it. You, or your guild can do it too.

Some skills were modified to balance the gameplay.
