I'll look into it for you.

And, what do you mean change all of the IP's each time the WAN changes o.O?

My WAN Ip changed today and my players cant connect so i needed to change the WAN in maps and char athena, re send my sclient, etc etc. So i was wondering if there is a way to automatically change the ip of my players so i do not need to resend the sclient?

Btw i used GRF tool to extract the data folder from sdata.grf as instructed/adviced by some threads in eAthena but i did not see any num2idresnametable.(supposed to be the sprite txt folders)

Well, first of all, the only way to do this methinks is to use a patcher....But I'm anti-patcher for various reasons. However, why did your WAN change? Mine never changes o.O

Anyhow, what are you trying to do? Add custom items?

There is several ways you can get around this. Most server owns with this problem use either :

DynDNS
or
No-IP

Which, via their windows service (Download required) automatically updates your WAN ip and turns it into a DNS. All you would have to do is replace your clients sclientinfo.xml and char / map_athena to the address and you will never have to update it again (Providing that you keep the service running)

Okay i will look into the no-ip program soon enough thanks for the help.

As for the sprite, i've managed to suck out the idnum2resnametable and etc wif grt tool but their in korean, i wonder if i can just add my description in english and expect it to work out?

Edit: Put everything else on hold, i have a greater problem.I get error with monsters in Abbey dungeons...how come?
GRF files are set this way with paths correctly done.KRO n SAK are new as well.

//-----------------------------------------
// GRF List
//-----------------------------------------

grf: C:\Program Files\Gravity\RO\data.grf    <--- Delete this entire line.
grf: C:\Program Files\Gravity\RO\sdata.grf  <--- Change this to the path to your sdata.grf file which is in your main RO folder.

// You may add more in this format
// grf: <data file path>

//------ Others ---------------------------

//Path to directory that contains the data dir
//NOTE: Path must include trailing backslash, only one data_dir entry is supported.
//data_dir: C:\Program Files\Gravity\RO\   <--- Delete the "//" and change the path to your main RO folder's path.

This is most likely because you have a version of Sak/Rag that is higher than your SVN. Therefore, they don't match up totally correctly. Normally this is not a problem. However, I THINK it may have something to do with the fact you added that sdata path. My server does not use an sdata file.

No actually i created that path because i have already received an error originally with that grf files so i changed it hoping to fix it but obviously it did not.

So should i download a new SVN version of the server to fix that?

Hmm. Well, if you notice on the VER7 SVN packet link I gave you, it says on the page ''Only use VER8 if your computer can handle it''. People were having issues with version 8, it wasn't letting them connect. So.....You may try VER6? Perhaps VER9 (I think they have it)?

'Dude' you already asked me this about 20 times.....No one else is having this problem....Figure it out yourself. Perhaps your browser uses a different interface, in which case you need to contact your ISP or perhaps the company that manufacturers it.

A slight question, how do you alter the prices of the items sold from this npc script format

airplane,59,36,5   shop   2-2 Class Shop   86,678:-1,7136:-1,7135:-1,522:-1,526:-1,7139:-1,717:-1,716:-1,715:-1,656:-1,657:-1,1901:-1,1903:-1,1905:-1,1909:-1,1911:-1,1907:-1,1550:-1,1551:-1,1552:-1,1553:-1,1554:-1,1555:-1,1556:-1,1557:-1,1558:-1,2341:-1,2343:-1

By the way the i've figured out how to allocate a sprite to the item.

By changing the "-1" to what ever price you want it to be.

-1 denotes Standard Price as listed in the item_db.

New problem again (sorry for all the trouble caused, i decided not to ask minor problems here but rather the major ones)

My server is abit too advanced, as in when i go to the Slot enchant npc, the one which creates slot in weapons, the new options are already being shown (swordbreaker, mailbreaker, and the weapons only available in the satan morroc saga of kro) which is a good thing but also a bad one, reason being there isnt any sprite allocated to the new stuffs and therefore causing sprite errors.Somehow my server isn't taking the sprite from my kro, thats what i thought, because i purposely changed the grf dath in the conf to one that doesnt exist(grf:blah/blah/blah) but my server still runs all the sprites correctly.

This is vexing i know but i hope to get some help.

Hmmm...You know, honestly, I think if you tried this stuff without extracting the sdata and such, you may not have this problem. I think it isn't correctly matching up with your kRO clients. Try these kRO links, they may be better than your current ones:

http://games.internode.on.net/filelist.php?filedetails=8118

http://games.internode.on.net/filelist.php?filedetails=10350

These are the kRO and kRO-sakray files that I use for my own server. Enjoy :*)

So should i redirect the path or something once i have that kro/sak link you gave me? Or at least do something so my server doesn't have the errors?

The thing is, try without making a path for the sdata at all. If that doesn't work, you have to make the path C: Program Files\Gravity\RO\sdata.grf. The sdata must be in your RO folder, and the path must lead to wherever the sdata is in the conf file. Like I said, try redoing everything and DON'T use the sdata this time.

Alright, using the your rag.exe + kro i can now have the sprite for swordbreaker and stuffs(although satan morroc gives a sprite error, it is not an issue since the dungeon is not out yet). But i still have problems in St Abbey dungeons, the Warp agent supposedly doesn't have the warp to that dungeon, as well as thor dungeon(although i can warp there and the monster sprites are perfectly fine).As for StAbbey, any monster from that dungeon will give me an error although the items they drop doesn't seem so.(i've only tried wool scarf and tidal shoes which have no apparent errors)

Btw i haven't changed my server version its still 7 right now as i do not wish to change to a new one but still fail to fix those things.But i think i might give it try.
Edit: Tried it again the login is the problem.

Another edit: i found out the problem. I tried another rag.exe one from another RO server and it worked out fine @[email protected] Though i do get errors in the cloth colour and aura template(probably because i just used their rag.exe and didn't patch it). Do you have a better rag.exe or could you link me to a thread that teaches me how to create a rag.exe?

I get a error patching when i try to open the sak.exe. I get a blank message plus an OK sign.  ???

I read threads at eAthena and they said to apply the "Disable 1rag1 & 1sak1" patch and try again but i still get that error msg.

Can you list out the exact name for it? I know i have enabled these:
Disable 1rag & 1sak
Allow DNS support
[XRay]Allow create custom palettes

I don't see anything else that fix your description.

Edit:So the problem comes from what i put in the data folder. What i probably need now is the most updated idnum2itemdisplaynametable,etc,etc because the words are gibberish.

I've downloaded a data folder from eAthena. Everything working fine...for now.

When I try to log on to my server, I fail to connect, Why?  ???|

I follow the guides but it gives me a failed to connect.

I can play on the server off line with 127.0.0.1 but can other people play with me while I have 127.0.0.1 set up?

This Is what I did for Steps 6-7

I had to put in RagSer1, RagSer2 and, RagSer3 because RagServ1, RagServ2 and, RagServ3 wouldn't fit in

Try enabling DNS Information Transfer. Also- take down your firewall, see if that helps.

This did not work for me, I already had my firewall off and I also enable the DNS, the server didn't let me log in.

I can play on the server off line with 127.0.0.1 but can other people play with me while I have 127.0.0.1 set up?

No, you can't, instead you'll need to use your lan and wan ip for them to work out.

I dun know if this could actually pull off for you but you can try. Goto start, then click run and type cmd then press enter. You will open up a window and then type in ipconfig/all. Stuffs gonna pop up and if you see a website(eg www.yourwireless.net), copy that and paste it in your your browser to see if it works. I did it that way since putting my ip there didn't work as well.

Btw MWright, i would like to ask how to use the no-ip program, I've created a account and also a host(dunno if i done it correctly,all i put was my domainname and then click on create a host.) Then i have the program and now it showed me my current hosts and i have my ro there. So i checked on the box and then what should i do?

I remember i also need to put www.no-ip/org or something in char_athena and map_athena wasn't it? I've used no-ip but those days my friend helped me out with that so i don't remember or know much.

I honestly have no familiarity with no-ip.org. I believe the way it works from my very basic understanding is that you make an account, it gives you an IP address, you use that as your WAN, and then each time your WAN changes no-ip changes with it...Or...Something. I don't have this issue, so I really have no idea. Sorry :/

I don't like Hamachi but..... Ill try.

Hi, First id like to thank you for your marvelous guides.
However, I am having some difficulties with forwarding my ports and allowing other people to connect to my server. You see My router is a D-link model DI-524 and I have followed many guides but i just cant seem to figure it out. When I open my command promt, and enter netstat -a the ports 5121, 6121, and 6900 do not show up.
I am truley sorry for being such a noob, but it would really mean alot if you could help me.
