Your guide looks good. I wanna know this one... if I follow your guide exactly or merely exactly, will I make a game almost similar to official ro in the sense that it will work like the standard way? I would like not to make any custom things within the game... About the rates, I think I would make it in a maximum low rate... About the gm thing, please tell me more about it(can't think of a question to ask about that, so sorry)... And lastly, will you let me know about the minimum and maximum requirements of a pc so that the game will not suffer while it will be played by 10-50 people at once...? Matt... thank you in advance!

When I open my sclientinfo.xml it just shows this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="euc-kr" ?>
  <no_free_server />

I also don't have a data folder i have a grf file. I used the Gryff 1.1 to open it. I don't know if that is the problem.
please help. ???

A 1.1, coming from somebody with only one post, if you honestly think that explain why, don't just go around doing stuff like that.

Great guide!

-By the way, I'm still looking for those articles-

ok to make this simple.

How well the server will run depends on the computer you are hosting from.

if you want to host it from a computer in your house used as a server. you should have it someone good.

512+ ram should be good

1 GB Ram Is The Best For Servers ; 512 - .99 GB Isn't Really Good  Because 512 Might Not Be Enough To Be Very Useful ; 1 GB - ~ Ram ( ~ Means Infinite ) Is The Best For Most Servers !

512mb of RAM is cutting it pretty close for running an RO server...especially when Windows XP takes up most of that memory usage anyway. :-\
And technically a server would run well based on also a staff that's mature enough to deal with people, having good scriptors...event GMs...advertisers, the works. But yes, a fairly decent comp can solve a servers woes o.o
The guide here pretty much fufills the criteria of making a server, there's really nothin' to complain about it. I guess although someone who is completly new may be a bit shaky on gathering the info correctly...
