So I play in a server where the job levels are given automatically, and my question was do you have to use the skill points to receive the job bonus affects? Or does that not matter at all?
Stat bonuses are determined by a look up table. If you're job 70 you get whatever the stat bonuses would be for that job, if set up improperly and using a job level beyond predetermined standards, you may see that you'll lose all bonuses from 70->71. The look up table may not actually be looked at if your job level was raised inproperly . Skill points are held separately and if the server is just setting your job level to 70 and not using the job level up procedures you'll receive no skill points and be unable to level up any skills.
OTHERWISE... you get the job bonus stats automatically by just leveling up. All classes get different bonuses at different levels in different stats.
