Any class ideas anyone??

i'm just gonna give a few brief examples:

Shinobi:
-Advanced ninja class (Boys only)
-More Stealth attacks
-More Throwing attacks

Kunoichi:
-Advanced ninja class (Girls only)
-Charm skills (Gyspy skills, debuffs)
-More Melee moves
-Can Dual weild

Witch:
-Advanced Mage (Girls only)
-Rides broom
-Various alchemist skills
-Various curse skills

Samurai:
-Advanced Swordsman
-Various attacks, that cause debuffs
-Various solo buffs
-DEX based attacks, with various versions

Noble/Leader:
-Advanced Merchant
-Various party skills, similar to the Guild ones

Anything else??

I'll go onto further details; like skills and other stuff later (H)

Sarin

Any use for that, since 3-1 classes will (hopefully) be available during next year?

Now my 2 cents about these classes...

Shinobi/Kunoichi: even when there are separate male/female classes, there shouldn't be much difference between them. Even those few minor clown/gypsy ones made me prefer gypsy, despite (or maybe because? :D) my gender. I would like to see advanced, more melee oriented ninja tho...
Witch: Brooms only for females? You sexist bastard  ;D I would like to see more status effects going around tho, I like impairing people before killing them.
Samurai: while I like single-bladed oriental weapons like katanas, there will be a little problem with separating them from those Katanas that lots of people use. Extension of skills like Joint Beat, Head Crush etc...would be excellent. I have a little problem with dex-based attacks, especially for fast-attacking type of character. Because that gives you actually one less stat you have to put decent amount of points into, and as a result, you could get character with high hitpoints, flee AND killing power...you can do it now with clown/gypsy, but they have quite low hp mod and no melee skills and that kinda equals it...
Noble: A class designed to be a guild leader? Interesting thing...
I am not saying these will be good or bad...but extensive balancing and testing would be nescessary, most prolly beyond possibilities of most private servers. Along with upcoming 3-1s and overhaul of whole game balance...

Ideas are fun and all, but sorry to bring a reality check: custom classes are a pain to make, to sprite, to script and to implement.

Coming up with the idea, the name of the class and the skill list is like 0,01% of the work. :(

Still, it's fun to dream ^_^;

@Pandora: To quote my favorite alp, "Quiet yous, youse spoilings mein fantasy." No offense meant I just like that phrase. XP

I thought about this myself. Personally I dont go for the girl/guy only type classes except for the Bard/Dancer thing.

The gunslinger second classes would require alterations to the already existing class to keep it for being unbalancing.

Oops I appear to be a little bit of a hypocrite there. XP Onto positive thoughts!

As I've said before I'm all for evil versions of the existing classes. Like Maybe a Cultist as the dark counterpart of the Acolyte.

Hey, necromancer would be cool....I am not sure how would raising the dead work scriptwise....but could be fun to walk around with a few skeletons and other...things.

Head Monocle of DOOM

Necromancer would probably be a kind of dark priest with a resurrect for dark classes like itself. (assuming all dark classes are rescripted to be demon or undead types)

Probably with a couple summon undead platinum skills.
Proof or it didn't happen.

Me and a friend once wrote an entire system like that, complete with Job Change quest and lore and all. But we lost the files, they were pen&paper made...
Everything I remember is down here:

Dark Knight: Swordsman Dark Class. Gained absolutely no defensive skills or whatsoever, only lots of offensive boosts and skills. Kinda like how the Lord Knight turned out, except without Parrying and with more majikz-like abilities.

Night Walker: Thief Dark Class. Rather than boosting Hide or gaining another stealth skill, they instead could translocate whilst Hiding. Two of it's most important skills were stolen from our minds by Gravity and used for the Ninjas. You know them as Shadow Jump and Shadow Slash (though we never thought of a Crit bonus)...

Sinner: Acolyte Dark Class. Focusses on damaging Non-Undeads and inflicting status ailments.

Warlock: Mage Dark Class. Kinda what the actual Warlock Class is apparently going to be, except we also added Shadow spells.

Cursed Craftsman: Merchant Dark Class. Makes Cursed Weapons (good stats but also have negative effects) instead of Strong/Elemental and has self-boosting skills like Blacksmiths do, only theirs do not affect others.

Sniper: ...this is the only one we never got anywhere with. All we could think of was 'more arrow firing skills'.

They all had the same Job Change Quest and in the same location too. After changing you were set back to level 1, though you kept your First Job skills.

Our idea of dark classes was that they would be roughly similar in strength to Trans Classes, but also limited to offset the 'easier route to great power'. This reflected in that they got only 50 Job levels and only so much skills and options as a normal Second Job. They did get better stat modifiers, though.

It really sucks that I've lost the exact data. Though even if I had it I would not likely post everything anyway, it'd be a pain to type :P

so, how would I make such "mirror" trans classes:
swordie classes:
Death Knight: rides "was-a-Peco". Fast, offensive character, able to curse his enemies. Limited weaponry tho.
Juggernaught: Big armor, causing slow walk. But when it gets somewhere...you get the idea.
thief:
Nightblade: agile, magic type. Some of his skills use AGI as cast modifier instead of DEX. Able to hide and strike from shadows, he can use melee weaponry, but in that case he relies on blade enchantments to gain attacking power.
Spectre: "was-an-Assassin", this is one of few that sacrificed their life for power. Unseen, he stalks his victims and kills them from shadows. Fragile, but hard-hitting.
aco:
Dark priest: can support shadow and undead enemies, he posseses more curse and dispelling abilities than his "light" counterpart.
Vampire: possessing draining abilites and decent melee power, these don't have high flee but damage avoiding skills.
mage:
Necromancer: able to raise skeletons or zombies from bodies of his slain enemies, he also can cast some telekinetic (physical attack) and ghost property spells.
Lich: Another real undead in group, these were once powerful wizards...now their speciality are poison, shadow and telekinetic spells.
archer:
Deathbow: possessing special enchanted crosbows, these are not so agi based as their counterpart, but have better hp modifier.
Cadaver: these walking corpses use poisonous fumes from their rotting flesh and armies of worms and flies feeding on their bodies pretty much same way as clowns and gypsies use their songs and dances.
merchant:
Efreet: fire demons, these beings are able to forge weapons for hell itself...
Soulless: alchemists who made deal with the evil. Now they can use dark magic in conjunction with their alchemy, but the price was their own soul....

i don't think so, if i recall all he did was use a priest class clone, then edited the skills so they could do things like summon homun, only a skeleton would pop up and such

Custom Job:
Novice > Sous Chef (1st class) > Master Chef (2nd class) > Iron Chef (3rd class)

Some details:
- Higher success chance of Cooking (Cooking Mastery Skill)

- Special Chef combo gears/weapon (Chef Hat/ Kitchen Knife/ Sushi Knife/ Lunar Skillert[3]) Maybe even an Apron[1] (Armor), Chopping Board[1] as a Shield.

- Ability to make Rice Cake Egg and summon Rice Cake to battle (works like a homunculus). Given time, it can evolve into a Rice Cake Boy.

- Food Discovery (a skill similar to Ore Discovery - Blacksmith). When a Chef kills a monster, there is a small chance, the monster will drop Food (eg: Autumn Red Tea +2INT)

- Kitchen weapon mastery (increases ATK when using a Kitchen weapon)

- Chopping Mastery â€" increases ASPD when using a Kitchen weapon

- Introduce a Top 10 Chef (Ranking System) - being in Top 10 enhances cooking success chance/ Food from Ranked Chefs lasts longer

- Ability to combine Foods. Instead of having to eat 6 different Stat Food (STR, VIT, INT, AGI, DEX, LUK). A skilled chef will be able to combine them and create one meal set which once eaten will gives temporary bonus for all stats. (also weighs less)

- Ability to create new foods giving other special abilities/Sub stats (+FLEE, +HIT, +Increase in Size, +ASPD, Reduce casting time, Reduce cast delay, etc…)

- Throw Bao Skill â€" drops half a dozen of Bao in the direction of a targeted area which will distract any aggressive monsters from the Chef while the Chef escapes. The aromatic smell of the Baos will also prove irresistable to any non-aggro monsters.

- A skilled Chef can fill the Baos with ingredients which can cause negative status on opponents, Example: Poison Bao. Sleeping Bao. Etc.. (including new negative status - Slow Casting/Critical Wound/etc)

- Chopstick Shower â€" Firing a dozen of chopsticks in the direction of a target (Ranged Attack)

- Some basic attack â€" Dice/Chop/Crush/Mince/

- Sharpen knife â€" Increase accuracy

- Flambe (magical fire attack)- kinda like waterball (Wiz skill), but fire base.

- Chef class have an advantage over "Food Race" - Brute/Fish/Plant/Insect - increased attack bonus/ reduced damage from Food Race monsters, Higher experience received from Food Race Monsters. Err... I added Insects coz, we have Fried Grasshoper Legs as a +1STR Food. (I know, its kinda disgusting to think of Insects as Food)

andrewgn12

lol will not be implemented since they are planning of implementing the new job 3

Pandora

xD this thread is more of us putting together random ideas =o
i doubt anyone has any real expectations of these classes happening ={
would be cool if they did though <3

BabyJosh

Hahaha, It Would be a lot of work but mesaRO did it

The cook and espre sound like fun

i think the 3-1 classs are a bit too much really, though I'm not sure, will you hav to trans again?

and if they ar, I beleive that extendeds should have another job, in order to keep up

Head Monocle of DOOM

extendeds need some work done on them too but there would be much that needs to be done.

dweebcake

add a teacher class for those uber leechers

skills: extra homework: gives 20% extra exp to party -_-; dont need any other skill than that

and omg that chef idea is awesome

Orange

That chef idea is pretty awsome :D
I am a HUUUUUUUUGE fan of spooky things, specifically undead and vampires.. a lich or necromancer class would own :D
:3

BabyJosh

I think ninjas should get a claw and shuriken as their main weapon
and maybe a sword as a sub-weapon

mayb an AOE for shuriken too??

where an attack hits a character and dos less damage to the nearby enemies??

Somthing like a weak desperadoo

dunno :z

ngjoko

The chef class sounds cool, but Bao for weapon? Sounds kinda funny, something like poison cooking i suppose...

We do have TaeKwons and Ninjas, why not other martial artist? KungFu kids, Kick-Boxers, Jackie Chan?
Come and join HeRO, it's lots of fun. ^^

BabyJosh

Boxers that deal sombos and dodge attacks, a class that takes a good reaction time who's attacks are based on accurate timing like the catch move?

echo44

xD awsm chef class is pretty cool!
btw any1 know when r 3rd classes rly coming out?! ( i mean in the game)
O man~ Sinx
Hell was full so I came Back!~

Guest

eh probably not for a very very long time X.x

BabyJosh

lol iRO are so lazy ;p

I hope the changes dont f*** the game up, i think a possibl test should be in order of the new classes and such

billyboebob

the chef idea is tight no doubt but the teacher idea isn't to bad either it would have a lot more partying in general and you could still go job 50 with it if you only have that one skill. just make every job lvl for that skill add .5% exp for party. or maybe .25%.

but i think the 4th jobs are going to be tight but i kind  of agree that it might create a little to much unbalancing so possibly just make more jobs for first classes to go into. so swordsman could go knight crusader and like dual wielder or something.
