Why do people like high rates?

I agree with what most people are saying about the 99/70 HRs. The servers I've made a home of myself is one of them, where the rates are considered that of a HR, and things are fairly easy, but all in all, there is still challenge.

I think what most people misconstrue about HRs/SHRs is that they look at it in comparison to LRs, or even the original servers, and think, "Gee, that must be where the lazy, inexperienced players go," when, infact, that is far from the truth. It's true that on HRs it's extremely easy to reach the max level, but if people would give things a try, they would notice that a lot of the good/popular HRs or SHRs implement challenges just for that reason. Most of the popular/non-corrupted HRs try hard to balance things out, and try hard to implement either custom things in order to keep the original feel of the RO challenge, or just lower other rates (drop rates, rates for any custom achievments).

I guess what I'm trying to say is, there's not as much of a difference between most good, balanced (as close to balanced as possible) HRs and LRs/MRs; basically just the rates, but the challenge is still there. I guess it just varies on whether or not you want the hunting/creating to be a challenge, or if you want to have to grind in order to achieve max cap.

Um... No... That is high rate too... Both of them can have those things from my experience.

If I'm not mistaken, anything above 10k rates is usually considered to be a SHR, and yes, I have seen plenty of servers with 5k-10k rates with the max level cap being 999. Most HR servers do that to bring a little more stability to the leveling.

It's unbelievably fantastic to know that you dont like high level caps and wings, but guess what? Some people do WHOA! What a fu**ing shocker huh? Do you really need us to keep telling you why some people play high-rates?

SHRs aren't the only ones with a max level cap of 999, and they certainly aren't the only ones that has no delay/custom wings.

Yes, the main reason I play on high rates is because the PVP and WoE are more intense. SHRs are just pushing it. PVP on SHRs aren't intense cause you will die in a matter of seconds. While on High rates if the server is balanced enough you could have a good fight that will last more than 2 minutes. Don't get me wrong I like low rates too and stuff it is just nowadays I gotta work and don't have time to hunt gears and etc.

Another reason could be the customs, not all of them take up half the screen. Also there tends to be more events from GMs on HRs then low rates, that could be another factor.

Same here. I'd do lowrate if I had the devotion, but I don't and I get easily bored ._.

I enjoy teaming up and working together for a common goal, but not one where only one person benefits

I think it's because you can try new things faster than on low-rates. I mean... without much effort you can already kill that monster, get that card, those equips, etc. The PvP is completely different (and even more unbalanced - HELLO THERE SINX BOY OH WAIT EDP AAARGH), and it annoys me to see half of the server with SinX clothes, though. Then again... I have never seriously played on a LR.

And it's also fun to hit a Poring for 35k damage.

I used to LOVE high-rates, but I played a 99/70
But as a high-rate player I was horrible at the game I loved.
I tried a Low-rate and my eyes opened to the actual depth of the game

People are different and diverse.
Some hate grinding, yet they like MMOs
High-rates are VERY fast-paced, and are quick to get to the funnest part of the game
It is all on the person.

I love Low-Rates...
And some like High Rates.

of course i like high-rates,
i can get things easily and reset my stat and skill often to get a new combination on weapon and stat.
then, i can make the example on high-rates to my character on low-rates.
because most of low-rates rarely have reset npc, and hard to get items.
 

and yes.. Pvp is another reason on high-rates.... enjoy...
