I mean which part of RO does bring you the most fun?
Like WOE,
PVP?
Grinding (LOL, why am I even putting this?)
Meeting your friends?
Flamewars?
Ragnarok Online Player since the very Beta. I'm still in love with the game.

For me it's meeting people, RO is always about community and getting on to chill with people and guildies everyday.  Well you can say it's like this for most mmo, it's true and that make me stopped playing console game because there are only NPC no real human.

^^^I actually really like the social aspect of RO. I used to have an easier time meeting people on RO than IRL, but as of lately it doesn't seem as social as it used to be... Could just be me though. Not to mention a lot of the people I used to play with have quit and just about every server I have played on has been shut down.

Agree. The intellectual level of the RO community is sinking and sinking.
Best example is this site. Lets face it. RMS has become a site for people to b**** about their failed life and pRO Server experiences.

social aspect. I miss 2007-08 when you would check your friends list if someone was online and that was the only way to contact them. and if they changed their character name that was it person gone!

Definitely WoE when servers have more than 3 o 4 competitive guilds. Although I have to admit I've been trying to find a good mid-rate server that matches the golden age of pre-renewal RO low rate servers (now that I don't have that much time to grind my way to 99/70 full WoE equipped), and been failing to do so. I've been told it's pretty easy to get to the max level in Renewal RO, even in low rates, and there are some pretty stable low rates of such kind, like AtlantisRO that's been online for almost a decade without wiping, but I'm just too stubborn to try out the renewal classes, and doubt they are as much fun as good old pre-renewal 1.0 and 2.0 WoE.

I don't know about the intellectual level of the RO community dropping lol. About their failed life? I get the pRO server experience stuff... That I see on here often, but I don't see people complain about their lives on here. I mean granted I recently started checking this forum more so than before, so it's possible that I missed those posts.

The lore, and uniqueness, and the community there's no MMORPG like this.
even when they try to make ToS, it cannt even substitute or replace.

That and also all the nerdyness, autism, and all the drama that following behind it XD

Collecting items is enjoyable because of how relaxing the music and art in the game is. Ragnarok is a great way to learn game design as well. It's sad that it has become a divided game full of incompetent server owners who've alienated the population into quitting.

Agreed,
There are 2 reasons why we're divided.
First of all: Stupid gravity sold licences to other companies. So Ragnarok online is runned differently in different countries. Sometimes the game differs much. Ragnarok online is region based. Thats problem nr. 1.
Gravity should made ragnarok online the same way FF14 is made like where all players are playing the same game only different servers they can choose. Its gives players a form of unity. Also, I also want to be able to communicate with korean players but when Im on EuRO I would never get the chance, in many MMORPGS like FF14 you can.
What I mean is, when you log in to RO, you have to choose different servers. RO should be made in a way where all players play the game just have to select different servers like FF14. But you know, gravity. They sell their soul to the highest bidder.

2. There are private servers. That divides the players even more and more.
That, alongside some other reasons, is what killed RO.  And thats not all.
Many RO players only knew Ro through private servers. So many people I met never even played the officials. We all know that most pservers are handled like s***, they dont care about their servers. How many RO players got a bad image about RO because they had to witness bad things in pservers? How many, I ask?

I think I'll go with grinding/farming/hunting since I'm no pvp person haha

In the past I would have said social aspect. Now it's harder to socialize since I don't care about PvM anymore. Battlegrounds was also very addicting to me, but I'm getting tired of remaking my 4 main characters on a new server every 3 months. And the BG population is pretty terrible most of the time, which makes the matches uninteresting.

WoE: I don't understand how it is still fun to so many with the way it's being played now.

The only guaranteed fun aspect that's left for me is the music and sprites. Though that might just be enough to keep me playing.

Most fun for me in seven easy steps:
1. Find a very close-to-official pre-renewal private server
2. Fetch a friend that hasn't played RO before but likes video games
3. Tell him about the game and recommend he plays Priest
4. Show him around the game and explain him the most important things
5. Watch as he slowly becomes addicted
6. Teach him how to improve his playing skill further
7. Play together with him every day

Fluorite~

Low rate War of Emperium and Battlegrounds...but not the actual battle itself.

I actually like the "preparation" aspect of competitive play more than anything else, where you're constantly in the mindset of managing a large group of people who don't want to become the weekend's embarassment.  Some guild members need to farm MVPs, many more need to farm consumable materials and required equipment, others are constantly leveling up new characters to create the perfect guild roster...there was always something for everyone to do.  And it was like you needed to be active the entire week, rather than just 2-4 hours + a few extra hours for Battlegrounds supplies.

...Unfortunately, the western RO community has aged and not replenished new players well at all (holy frick at the eastern servers though), so concessionsneed to be made to make them feel just viable for WoE.
