Most fun for me in seven easy steps:
1. Find a very close-to-official pre-renewal private server
2. Fetch a friend that hasn't played RO before but likes video games
3. Tell him about the game and recommend he plays Priest
4. Show him around the game and explain him the most important things
5. Watch as he slowly becomes addicted
6. Teach him how to improve his playing skill further
7. Play together with him every day

Getting average items and still able to smash donors and super grinders to the dirt cause of your awesome builds and knowledge of PvP.

Low rate War of Emperium and Battlegrounds...but not the actual battle itself.

I actually like the "preparation" aspect of competitive play more than anything else, where you're constantly in the mindset of managing a large group of people who don't want to become the weekend's embarassment.  Some guild members need to farm MVPs, many more need to farm consumable materials and required equipment, others are constantly leveling up new characters to create the perfect guild roster...there was always something for everyone to do.  And it was like you needed to be active the entire week, rather than just 2-4 hours + a few extra hours for Battlegrounds supplies.

...Unfortunately, the western RO community has aged and not replenished new players well at all (holy frick at the eastern servers though), so concessionsneed to be made to make them feel just viable for WoE.
