Some time ago I searched for RO character combat simulators with pre-renewal (classic) mechanics, but I couldn't find some items in any of them.
That's why I decided to create my own RO character combat simulator, with added features and items:

I've made a small update to my calc.

· More CSS and HTML cleanup and fixes.
· "Remaining status points" is now inside "Stats" title.

New update to my calc!


CHANGE LIST

· Implemented ALL Triper updates to my calc, except:
 -- Poem of Bragi (Triper's version had some issues, but I managed to fix them)
 -- Walking Speed calc
 -- fixed increase agi up of monsters

Merry Christmas!

Exactly a year ago I announced the first big update to my calc.
Now I announce the second big update! Most of the minor changes have been implemented during this year (although I didn't announce those :P) while the other changes had to come altogether.
Here comes the (almost) full change log.




CHANGE LOG (2013-12-24)

· Saving systems:
   · Deleted "Old Save" button (it's still possible to Load). Use "New Save" instead.
   · Added "New Save" & "New Load": It can save all data in the calc.
   · Updated URL saving system: Now it can save all data in the calc, while also able to load old URLs.

· Rearranged buffs/items/effects:
   · Moved tons of items from "Additional Effects" to "Food / Speed Potions / other Items"
   · Moved many effects from "Additional Effects" to "Miscellaneous Effects on Player": Quagmire, AGI down, Cursed, All Stats +1 [SN Marriage Bonus], Poisoned, Set CRIT to 0%.

· Fixed cards:
   · Flat +MATK increasing cards (Entweihen Crothen, Centipede Larva, Banshee Master, Rata) now function properly.
   · "Earth Deleter card" now reduces SP recovery to 0 properly.
   · "Sky Deleter card" now reduces HP recovery to 0 properly.
   · Added "Skel. Prisoner card"+"Skeleton card", "Bigfoot Card"+"Grizzly Card" and "Nightmare Card"+"Nightmare Terror Card" card set descriptions.
   · Fixed "Byorgue Card", now gives "ATK based damage +10%" instead of "ATK based damage +3%".

   · "Mind Breaker" in "Miscellaneous Effects on Player" now reduces softMDEF.
   · "Berserk/Frenzy" now reduces HardMDEF and softMDEF to 0 (zero).

KNOWN ISSUES
   · When loading from "New Load", sometimes it won't set as "[Active]" tables/windows with used buffs (but works fine).
   · When reloading the calc (F5) sometimes some tables/windows appear with the "Show" check-box activated (but works fine).
   · When reloading the calc (F5) sometimes "Add Spell-scrolls and Yggdrasil Leaf to Skill List" appears with it's check-box activated (but works fine).
   · There might be equipment that can be equipped by the wrong jobs.

- "Witch's Pumpkin Hat (iRO)" gives STR2 and INT2. But in iRO Classic as I tested, it gives STR1 and INT1.
That would mean irowiki is wrong on that: http://db.irowiki.org/db/item-info/18656/ (http://db.irowiki.org/db/item-info/18656/)
Do you know if it gives STR+1 and INT+1 on iRO renewal too? (unfortunatelly I can't test it myself).
I'm asking because I'd like to avoid adding another version of that hat.

- "Deviling Card" does not increase damage of elemental attacks from monster. (in Enemy Attack Skills section, or this section is incomplete?)
- "Asprika" also reduces ranged physical damage instead of melee only. (in Enemy Attack Skills section, or this section is incomplete?)
Deviling Card (and all elemental reductions) were fixed several weeks ago.
Asprika... it looks pretty hard to fix. EDIT: Fixed

- "Brynhild" does not "Increases physical damage by 10%" as stated in item description.
True for Guardian type of enemies (I will fix it right away).
Isn't it working against the remaining types of enemies?

PS: I've been updating my calc non-stop, but I don't like posting so much in this forum  /wah

In description, it says MDEF+4 and DEF:0.
However when I equip, it does give some DEF.

In stat window:
Before: DEF 38+119, MDEF 0+58
After: DEF 46+119, MDEF 3+59

My WPH is +4 tho. So I assume the raw DEF of the hat is 4.  /?
Before renewal existed, each upgrade level gave +0.7 DEF.
I guess in classic server it works the same way, meaning that the real base-DEF of the hat is: 8 - (0.7*4) = 5.2 --> 5
But the amount of DEF shown in character's info window (and used in game) rounds up (or down) the sum o refine level of all equipments before applying it to the DEF shown (and used in game).

Long story short:
I need to know the DEF your character has when you have ONLY that hat equipped.
Or tell me all refines of your equipments, but that would take more time to do.

In iRO Classic, All monster Basic Attacks are considered Non-elemental. So Ghostring Card will not reduce any of that (it does in calc). Deviling does reduce. But I'm not sure if Asprika does or not (need confirmation).

Asprika does if it's Melee.

Edit: To clarify... Asprika reduces all melee range attacks by 30%. This also applies to magic cast by monsters. Magic-type spells cast by players is considered ranged in regards to damage reduction items, and not impacted by Asprika in anyway.

How come Asprika works with magic (even from mob not players)? I think it works with just physical melee attacks.

Not sure why it works like that exactly. But yea... to be MORE specific. Ground Targeted magic spells were reduced. So Storm Gust from HWiz MVP can be reduced by it, but Jupitel Thunder from the same monster will not.

Off-topic Edit: You can also use Paladin's Shield Reflect or Valkyrie Manteau's reflect on the SG off screen to make HWiz teleport and the same thing with Sniper MVPs Claymore traps.

Don't worry about melee or long-range anymore, because I've just solved that problem adding "Enemy Attack Range" in "Monster Combat Simulator", allowing to ignore enemy basic attack range and enemy skill attack range /no1

When I got 89+8 VIT, the calculator says I got 100% resistance to Poison, Stun, Silence, and Bleeding.
I wonder if this is correct or not. The other calculators say I need total of 100 VIT to be 100% resistance to those status though.

eAthena is 97 VIT for 100% stun resist. I believe Hercules changed it to 100 VIT is 100% resist, and on the official servers is 100 VIT for 100%.

Please update that Ghostring card shouldn't reduce monster's basic attacks, at least this is true in pre-renewal mechanic.

Both builds kill in roughly five hits, but the first has a higher Aspd.  Battle duration is calculated from the start of a cast or attack to the end of its cast and its respective delay.  Build A simply reaches the end of its fifth attack step sooner.

From what I believed, shouldn't DPS include ASPD, cast time, and delay already?
If that is the case, DPS and Average Battle Duration should go in the same direction.

While you have the correct general idea, you need to take into consideration what battle duration actually indicates.  It isn't a linear function like DPS.

Imagine build X slapping a poring for 50 damage at 190 Aspd.  The battle duration is 0.2s.  Now picture build Y slapping a poring for 999,999 damage at 150 Aspd.  The battle duration is 1.0s despite build Y's DPS being several magnitudes higher.

Hopefully this example helps you understand the difference.

And what should I go with? Higher DPS or smaller battle duration.

You did not delineate any context to your calculations so I present a general answer.  Choose the more consistent option.

Kudos for the calc, very useful. I have one question: are you using this (http://irowiki.org/classic/ASPD (http://irowiki.org/classic/ASPD)) formula for ASPD?
Not exactly, but it should give the same result.
Anyway, I noticed some differences when certain jobs equip certain weapons.
I'm working on that.

Bug Report:
- Soul linker buff for Assassin Cross is not available.
It is available at "Player Attack Skills: Sonic Blow [Soul Linked]"

Changelog from june to july:

Hi

Im not sure about the behavior of what it's happening is about the client emulator side, or the calculator side:

When upgrading armors, each +1 add a 0,6666... DEF on equipment:

+1 = 0,6  +2=1,2   +3=1,8    +4=2,4    +5=3,0 and goes on.

When using the armor upgrade on the equipment section, it's giving the wrong DEF increase.

But again, im not sure if it's a emulator behavior, or the calculator itself

But if only people take in consideration of droping the level upgrade and keep in mind that for +4 DEF they need to upgrade things to +7, then it's no problem at all

Last time I researched about refining DEF increase it turned out to be +0.7 DEF each refine. That was about 2 years ago.

I will test it again equipping 3 equipments refined +10, that way:
- If it's +0.666 DEF then it would be 3*10*0.666 = +19.98 DEF
- If it's +0.7 DEF then it would be 3*10*0.7 = +21 DEF

Result on an Hercules based server: +21 DEF
Did you get another result on other server?

Yes indeed,

I tried it on DoM, i don't know which emulator they use, i belive it might be eAethena

Im into a new server and when i have the oportunity will try to see if i get the same def scalling behavior

I myself would love if all the other server did follow that formula for calculating refinement on armors (making life of tankers easier)

I only noticed it because of the many faqs i read, and when i looked into iRowiki classic, that the formula they give also, but being a "official server" they even that could nerf something so make it more pay to win by making things a bit harder, so they include "ores" that make it easier

But even so, iRo and others Ro (jRo, kRo, etc) have diferent perspectives of what happens. Nerf, bug, changes etc.

That's it.

If i get more info about it i will report /no1

I dunno nowadays but iRO used to have wrong values being displayed. I remember to read something about that was like "You can have 90+ DEF on the display but in reality it's a lower value".

Awnnn im feeling bad for it now, i deleted all my other games account and im in a moment of trying new servers, since i only play on very low rate server it's not that easy to get 4-5 eluniums with my playing time.

Sundays are my free time so if i get the oportunity to rush geting thoses i will print some of the changes regarding upgrade

Of course, if anyone else who read this want to help too...  /heh
