Self- Appointed Ifiltration Players & Reviewers

So, has anyone else had to deal with their share of this type of activity? I have noticed that the closer some servers get to the top the more negative flack that gets thrown their way. Does anyone ever see a pattern here? Has anyone ever seen a perfect server out there? Do they even exist? As server owners we do our best to meet the needs of those who have chosen to become our player populations and still there will always be dissatisfied players. That is just a fact of life.

But what about the players that just cruise into a server's population or are sent there by other, outside factors with the sole intent and purpose of trying to train wreck it? Those self-appointed, who make it their task to come in and start trouble and disrupt a stable, fun-loving in game environment?

Any input is welcome here.

If they are really that annoying and do not break any rules, then either it's not severe enough or there's probably something wrong with your rules.

If they are actually breaking your rules by disrupting the server, you can punish them accordingly

Ah, we have just moved over to Flux from Ceres and that part has not been put into place yet. Though we have the rules posted on the Faq page of our website and in the rules section of our forum. I will get that taken care of ASAP. Thanks D2thaP!!!

There can't be any perfect server because everyone has different preferences, everyone.
That's why it's the right thing, for an admin, to go with the mass, that's why I only listen to suggestions that have been made more than one time, that's why I do polls in order to satisfy my population. You can't make everyone happy, only a few ones that will surely stay on your server after you made them happy.
That's why every server is somewhat different and many players are playing a new server every day, until they found the one that they like.

But that is just an attidude-thing. For me, germans are the most retarded players on every server, more annoying than pinoys, they can't lose and flame the s*** out of everyone when they once get owned in PvP/WoE, they complain about every piece of dust in the forums and insult everyone randomly if they are not satisfied. Not everyone, but most of them. (I am german btw.), this can me insanely annoying. I always wanted to ban every german ISP completely before I open a server. But as DeePee said, that's somewhat a rule thing.

We admins have the right to choose, who plays our server and who not (Among our own players, that is), so as soon as there are retarded, straight dumb players, you just need a rule that fits their pattern and you can ban them.
If you don't have their behavior forbidden in your rules and hate them anyways, you obviously forgot to add them in your rules, so they can't really be THAT annoying for you.

TL;DR: Live with it, everyone needs to, that's somewhat the job of an admin.

Good advice all around. But what I am really on about are the people that Admin their own servers and send people into our servers to cause these problems for us in order to affect our ratings on here. Then their are those who do it on their own to gain a feeling of self-importance.

I don't think people really do that.
There are some that hack other servers or make them bad somewhere, but they don't really play Ninja and assault your server with bad ratings and bad behavior

The thing is, the bigger your server is, the more reviews you get.
Most people just review all to 10, because it's the server they play and like.
A few rate it based on their honest opinion.

So while a server with more players/review-spam-bots gets a whole bunch more positive reviews, even if there are more bad reviews than on yours, yours will have a lower rating in general, since the masses of those all-10 reviews just push it insanely high. Those noob-admins you're speaking of (You wanted to say noob, I've seen it in your eyes) are able to get many players, because they don't hesitate spamming the name of their server in their whole MSN list, ICQ list, skype list, AIM list, their social networks with their 10000+ friends because they add just everyone and last not but least different forums like this one. As soon as we got the name in our mind, we will soon try the server, just to check what it is like.

I never really took those reviews serious, since everyone can write them freely, no matter how long he/she has played or how honest he/she is.
When I look for a server, I always skip the first pages of the review ranking and look for something that just sounds nice.
I think I am not the only one doing this.

You're definitely not the only one. I made a point of avoiding any server that was on the first page for review rankings, mostly because of said servers being large and corrupt goldmines with arrogant staffing and a nasty community, and also due to the fact that most of those servers at the top have had some sort of incentive at some point for the reviews they received. I would much rather read an honest review touching on positives and negatives with a rating of 75-80 than the all 100s with "pls....this is good serv....play leh".

@Cyric, I totally get where you're coming from, man. You've just gotta ignore the negativity. If you respond to it, you're feeding it and it'll only attract more. I know it's hard to ignore negative attitudes and reviews (though if they break rules, take their asses down!), but you've gotta let a little water roll off the feathers. Only reason some people even bother writing a negative review is to get a response. If you give them the one they're after, chances are they'll continue, but if you just laugh it off, most of the time it ceases. <3

EDIT: LoL, if someone named Kyle decides to post here be warned. He is the butt-hurt PW I mentioned. This guy was at one time a member of my staff who left on what was then good terms. I later found out he left after trying to sabotage my server by hacking our GRF. It did not work so he is trying a new approach. Of course he is letting his girlfriend call the shots as she is the one who must wear the condom in their relationship.

Yes, he was at one point in time known as TheLightWithin as a player. When he joined the staff he changed his name to Gemini. As far as I knew, when he left it was on good terms with me. We have not seen any activity from him in a very long time until now. I am getting a steady stream of reports in about him and what was going on behind my back the whole time he was a member of the staff and what I see is actually worthy of adding him to the HoS but I am not even going to bother with him or his living, breathing monthly cycle who is known as Melody.

since after all he resigned from his admin position on your server peacefully, keeping all those secrets of corruption to himself and all the things he didn't like in his own head, and continued to support it and visit and say hi, then he gives a nice, honest, and truthful review to your server, then his girlfriend gives and honest reviews too, and then some other completely different person you think is Kyle reviews o.O mainly trashing admin Flipsyde, and you trash poor Kyle for it even though all he has done is good things for DCRO

sadly all 3 of those reviews were legit and told the absolute truth

Now this is going to just be entertainment for me and others and the fact I should have let the truth out a long time ago

I agree with everyones post pretty much, there are truthfully a lot of people who try to trash servers because they think they were wronged there when they were being the idiot, honestly I don't think there is nothing to worry about if you have a good honest and fun server, don't forget though a lot of people can make a server and have their server anyway they like it, even those idiots

I wasn't sent by anybody O.o my friend and a group of his buddies were looking for a highrate, they seen deathcard in the top 10, they knew I was a previous admin of the server and asked me about it, I told them the truth and they bugged me, saying I should write a review and post about it on RMS, well I guess now I feel like it, and I am sure I am not the only one, and I was never trying to start trouble in the first place simply give people looking for a server a heads up about the honest truth of DeathCard RO, but now after all this well there might be some trouble

Cyric I ran your server for you, I had access to everything and the server, so why would I try to destroy it? does that make sense to you I even helped your staff with scripting a bit after I left? so why would I be doing things behind your back? LOL, I gain nothing by trying to destroy your server? why would I even bother? my friends are on there and they having fun? why would I hurt them? was I the only admin who didn't spawn gears on his legit and spent majority of my time on admin acount? Nezra wasn't bad till he went on his high priest acount, spawned items, and then went on during WoE killing people and such

Whatever. You have people coming forward speaking out about your tenure on the staff now. We have a great community that loves us. We have fixed what you screwed up. You are gone along with that whinny nag you call a girlfriend. Just stay away from my server. You came back solely to cause trouble and we are not having any of it. I was the one who gave you the benefit of the doubt and let you join the staff. And you turned on me right out of nowhere after you left peacefully. So I would say take your crew with you and move on. We have more to do than deal with butt-hurt people who have nothing better to do in life than to knock on a server that is making itself a good name. One that you are trying to smudge. So henceforth, I am taking the advice of the people who do matter on here and I am not going to feed the trolls. And if you think being a troll on here is easy, you have another think coming. And as for corruption that is not possible as we use an Itemizer NPC setup to give out prizes and the only staff members who have the @item command are myself and Nezra. And he and I are both known for not using it. End of discussion there.

I called you out to come into vent to prove to us that you are a man who is using his own words and are not being spoon fed his words by a trifling female who is disliked by everyone except for you. Did you come on vent? No. If not there you should have come to me on my forum and discussed these issues with me.
