Aside from RO DS, the only thing that hits my mind is using a very small laptop

Get a removable hard drive and install it on there. (or a thumb drive for that matter)

Also, try to use ROlite and Sakraylite (or Saklite, however they like to call it). And, remove all your BGMs. The majority of people don't listen to them anyway, and they take up a good amount of space.

I don't think RO DS is like Ragnarok online, because there's actually a story you have to follow.

I think he's looking for the actual RO, not another kind of RO for another platform.

The most reasonable thing I could think of is Sak + Rag Lite + whatever server you play on a thumbdrive. I've never tried it, but who knows, it might work.

I do not think it would, since RO gets some of it's information from the registry - and as such you would have to make a virtual registry hive on the thumb drive IF you cannot import registry settings to the host computer (If you could, why not just take the installs along with you? It would be much more efficient with Read/Write/Access timings..).

There was a topic on this somewhere on the forums but I cannot for the life of me remember where it ended up, if at all.
