Privacy & Player's personal information

I wasn't quite sure where to post this but I am hoping maybe someone may be able to answer my question.

Is there a a rule that players are not allowed to provide personal information of another player either in-game on forums or on forum chat without said player's consent?

quite simple: would you like someone to share your personal information? I guess not, so don't do that

but in any case, in fact, every single server including these "not privates" has got their own rules (that is copy-paste imo, but never checked xD) so you should read "da rules" of site/server/forum.

tl;dr - it's the internet, nobody is safe but yes, some places have rules.

I don't think a lot of servers actually have that in the rules, but if the problem comes up to the GMs they will likely act up on it.

It's a sort of common sense thing.
