a little 5/5/3 server where i play is definitely owned by an RO-loving person who is not in it for the money ;
played there for about 3 years now and i haven't donated a cent, yet i still think i did pretty good for myself...

plus the donations aren't hax or anything, just random chance boxes and the likes, nothing you can't get in abundance in game anyway...

Honestly this game lacks content compared to the other MMO/MMORPG's out there.

Dead?  Nah, population hitting the ground a little?  Probably, it doesn't help that there are a bazillion RO pservers and not enough players to fill all of them.  :|   I think that's the problem really.

I honestly feel like taking down all these servers and just making 1 really good damn server, lol. I think RO hit a all time low in population wise, i guess somone started to realize that lol.

I am seeing there's more advertisement of the official iRO and in Europe (Germany, France, Spain in particular) it is getting some players both official and private.

Anyone think the no subscription model is helping somehow?

If you want to go with higher rates than 1-3x, there isn't that choice on official.  Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with playing RO the way it is made to be played.  Official give you a peace of mind where you know the server won't suddenly shut down or have to wipe due to un-reversable abuse etc.

I think ragnarok population is going down every year, but there will be always players no matter what. The only servers which their population don't seem to go down is Jro. I wish I could go play there and speak japanese. Jro didn't wanted renewal they way Kro made it and a lot of configuration is different there, must be why it is so successful, PS: Jro population is over 30000 with all their server. the most populated server go up to 9k

Officials suck.   imo almost all pservers are better than the officials.

Officials force you to play renewal. I don't like or want anything to do with renewal, and i know I'm not the only one who feels that way.
