ok ok i get what u say. but, are we all in agreement that servers as soon as they are made are inherently bad and can get worse?
Private servers provide a free RO experience and rates that Gravity does not offer in their server. I find it hard to believe that's "inherently bad." Sure, you can wipe out the argument of "private servers being scams to get money," but I think we can all agree that not all server owners are out the for the money. eA is freeware as much as any warez are and, just like any other program on the net, how you use them is what determines if you're breaking the law or not.
Sure, you can say customs that people make are not in any way copyright-able since it's all based off of Gravity's work, but, in all honesty, we all know that's not entirely true. One doesn't really understand this matter until it happens to your work; some people grief on it, some others get over it.
All in all, copying another server's work is just an indicator for an administrator who could use more underhanded methods to get people. Plus, quite usually, the server owners who steal are also the ones who are out there for the money. Make a new server, steal a few features, overprice donations, kill server. Rinse and repeat for cheap, easy money.
