Not really, most of the builds required to change are the "Cheap" builds, mainly Soul Destroyer and Acid Demonstration builds, Ice Pick also get it's special effect changed to only ignore def, gravity is trying to add sense back to VitDef.

Interesting, as vitdef, tho approx tripled or maybe more, will be left after renewal, I've heard that hard def is going out.

Yeah, according to iROWiki players, Gravity has been adding a lot of crap that gives extreme hard defence that this is pretty much turning non Def-Penetrating stuff into crap if added with reduction, so far, gavity has done the following to unbreak RO and added more gameplay
*Remove status immunity from stats
*Remove Hard Def
*Decrease the potency of One-Hit-Wonders
*Make VitDef more meaningful (It's worth nothing to have 150 VitDef(A lot) and be hit for 10k Hits)
*Increase HP overall without cranking DPS through the roof (More survivability)
*Remove the DBZ Power progression (Bapho used to be strong with 3k atk power, now Ifrit arises with 30k atk...)
*Rebalance each class (They nerfed EDP for it to be +400% not *4 Multiplier with skills)
*To give more meaning to VitDef, Agi,Str and Luk also increase it by a low % as well
*Assump now doubles VitDef and IntMDef
*Removing instant cast, now you can only have 80% of cast time reduced by dex

So far, these changes are rebalancing RO greater than any past update has ever done if you check iRO Wiki forums daily, what worries me is about HR servers, having 255/500/999 max level will really screw the point of renewal

I have this feeling it probably won't.
I hope renewal will allow for more variety in builds in WoE.  Granted its balanced I guess in its own weird way right now but its so limiting and restricting.  Renewal to me is Gravity's way of letting us, the players, try out funky new ideas and actually be able to let them work in a WoE Environment.

I hope so. I haven't seen real variety in builds in about a year at least. Lately, everyone seems to fancy just two things-reductions and oneshotting.

Yeah, ppl are forced to follow those paths else be called noob. I'm seriously looking forward to this. Whether it balances or not, I'd love to see more variety.

Well for all we know they may even change emperiums stats to accomodate renewal, it doesn't seem too far fetched to me.

I'm really hoping they pull through and finish this, but considering it is Gravity I am not so sure. >_>
As long as the people who made Maple Story aren't in on this again maybe just maybe it'll be a-okay.

Funny thing is, people who are doing this are the ones bawwing,QQing and calling whaaaambulences, heck, I seen some people in iROWiki saying things like it, heck, major problem with trans is their massive damage and medium hit points, compare Trans and Renewal X-1 classes right now, ever since trans, a lot of people have been forgetting their old ways to one-shot-ness, anyway, many people see to forget RO is 8+ Years old, and it still has pretty much the same mechanics, I mean, things has gotten way to out-of-control. Heck, just looks at some of a max job wiz's equipment back then, Rod[4] w/ 4 Drops and 2 Gloves[1] With zerom, Vocal armor and AoA, this would be about +16 Dex, 22 counting job bonuses, totalling 121 full dex and 131 full dex blessing, now lets put a maxed High Wizard with 13.2 stuff, AoA,Vocal Valk armor(Lolwut?), Surviver's Rod w/ Drops(Dex one) and 2 Orleans gloves with a zerom each and thats like, +21 Dex, and adding it's +9 Dex job bonus, a total of +30 Dex, normally adding 99 Base Dex, you get 129 Dex, give him a bless, and that's 139 Dex, give the Wiz a +10 Dex food and there is 149 Dex right there, thing is, in the start gravity added 150 as max cast because they though "Lol no one will be able to reach it!", Renewal is pretty much a "fix" to RO's endless power level increasing, if RO continued this for about 10 more years, then 150 cast time would be easly done with any noobish wizard, I can see this happening in WoW in the future also, heck, I can see it happening in pretty much all MMORPGs, RO's time is now, IMO, renewal is a good solution for many of RO's problems, except botting and lack of advertising

This reminds me of a while back...a long while back.

Hey, remember Lord Knights? OMG REBORN CLASSES OP!!

Maybe these changes won't be so bad. After all - if it's really that bad, there are always private servers who can ignore those changes. The only thing I disagree with is the monster scaling. Give rewards for tackling more powerful monsters, but don't penalize people who don't want to move on stuff that's tougher.

C'mon, you know who you are. The guys that 99ed their wizards on Geographers because they were too lazy to head somewhere else? Or that one huntress who 99ed at Seals because she didn't have anywhere better to go? Remember those old days where you just aimlessly killed stuff because it was...well, fun to randomly kill stuff?

I happen to be one of those people who like heading down to anthell and kick the living daylights out of the lowlevel mobs.

Oh, well. Honestly, maybe they're trying to get us to switch to WoW.

I don't think the penalty is THAT harsh, hell, atleast they give around half exp, in WoW being ~5 levels over a mob didn't give any Exp at all.

I mean, I think changes will probably be necessary, and I can honestly say that I'm one of those people who is a little wary of change. I just hope that whatever they're doing, they -know- what they're doing.

Would be nice if they kept drops too - otherwise it forces tiered hunting economies, and unlike other games, lower-level mobs such as hydra drop useful cards even at higher levels.

(Never forgave Gravity for making goats medium sized....never will. I leveled my knight on those guys back in 03-04.)

I wouldn't worry Raistlin, Gravity is an experienced company with 8-9 Years of experience in MMOs, plus they are also managing R.O.S.E. and Requiem (All their 3 MMO's start with the letter R? Lol), most of the RO community are very well-informed (Except for certain newbies), only bad thing about Gravity is that they don't advertise, no matter what country I go, USA, Denmark and China, I keep seeing WoW-Related crap 24/7, LUG used to advertise RO, but that was back then when they were small and only administrated bRO, now they manage many game servers, http://levelupgames.uol.com.br/website/index.aspx, even though, they focus their attention mainly on Grand Chase and Ragnarok Online

Edit:

What makes me rage is actually some retards in RO forums constantly nagging about "X is overpowered cuz of Y, so my class needs to be buffed and X needs to be nerfed!" while totally ignoring their class' skills and the backlash/cost of another class' skills.
Like this WS:
"GXs gets tons of love while WS get nothing! GX has a skill that gives +250 Flee* and tons of movespeed, they also have that uber strong potion* that does not allows the afflicted character to use skills for 5 minutes and it is incurable unless a friendly GX char is near, and what do we Mechanics get? Some stupid robot that all of their skills have a lower damage than mammonite*, not to mention some axe skills that are totally worthless expecially because of their crap damage*, and guess what? they decreased the attack from STR so now HSCR gets less damage*!"

*=Yes, but after it ends it has a huge cooldown and a very nastly backlass effect
*=Yet, these potions cost a tons of items that drop at 0.5%> chance on x1 servers
*=He's just taking DPS into factor, not the new supportive skills
*=Most of them have additional effects (Axe Boomerang, Axe Training) that mammo doesn't
*=This is stupid, both sides get the blow, not to mention the EDP nerf

To make it worse, I see people comparing 3-1 to 2-2 Trans, funny thing is, most of the bawwers are pretty much judging renewal by vids and screenies,

And I didn't see this post before

"What worries ME is, according to what you posted here it will be pretty easy to pot your way to emp."
According to the people in iROWiki, potting is actually nerfed, I mean, potting remains the same but there is more HP and damage while pots don't really make much difference, I mean, pots is based on Vit, and it's just a 21 vit increase from 99, nothing major

WM = Wanderer & Ministrel
WA = Wanderer
MI = Ministrel

Something that should be noticed is about this skill:
Quote
WM_RANDOMIZESPELL#Randomize_Spell#

Randomize Spell, sounds familiar? It probably is, the legendary Ragnarok unimplemented skill. Other skills have something in common too, but now they seem to be a better version of the older musics/dance:

Quote
Valley of Death -> Eternal Chaos?
Saturday Night Fever -> Rokis Weil?
Circle of Life -> Song of Lutie / Idun's Apple?
Unlimited Humming Voice -> Humming/Focus Ballet
Deep Sleep Lullaby -> Lullaby
Warcry of Beyond -> Battle Theme
Lesson -> Dancing/Music Lessons

Wanderer got three skills, If I could take a bet they would be:
Quote
WA_SWING_DANCE#Swing_Dance#
Raise flee while dancing. (To a massive level, probably)
Quote
WA_SYMPHONY_OF_LOVER#Symphony_of_Lovers#
Charm Dance? / Buff on Gypsie Kiss?
Quote
WA_MOONLIT_SERENADE#Moonlit_Serenade#
Buffed Service for You? / Smaller version of Moonlight skill?

Now into Ministrel:

Quote
MI_RUSH_WINDMILL#Windmill_Swing_Attack#
MI_ECHOSONG#Echo_Song#
MI_HARMONIZE#Harmonize#
Windmill = Offensive, have no idea what iit is about
Echo = Chaos Song?
Harmonize = New status?
