Do players no longer care about quality?

TL;DR:
All servers that exist should be hacked, killed, eAthena should remove all SVNs uploaded somewhere and only 3-4 servers with good admins in the rate-range of 1/1/1 to 100/100/100 should be made then.

That's why I'm waiting for Renewal to fail completely and Gravity(or whoever is running RO ATM) finally going under - we'll finally get a good 1/1/1(or 2/2/2 but no more) pserver, right now making them is pointless because no one plays them.

Well, I played kRO Renewal for some weeks and it actually made fun, I really liked it.
Many people out there like and prefer renewal.


However, let me quote something I hear about 5 times a day from different RO players:

If there would be a 1/1/1 server, mostly a blank eAthena, that is stable and has an admin where you can be sure that the server will be online like forever, me, my friends and my guild would play it

Sadly, most good admins have eAthena as kinda their "playground", they have so much experience that they always want to try something new, something other servers don't have (I am the same, really), even if many players out there are searching for a RO server, not for something modified that isn't really RO anymore.
If a good admin would set up a blank eAthena, just modifying the source (Fixing dupe/crash bugs) and adjusting stuff (Like...did you know the walkingspeed calculation of eAthena is wrong compared to that of Aegis? or the packets for walking have a missing byte that is considered as "unknown" for eAthena while it's actually a position of a big cell?) and possibly adding some useful renewal stuff, like the interface and the quest-icons above NPCs and hell, this would be a server many people out there would play.

Just my opinion and experience in words.

Yea i liked it alot i think some people don't like it cuz dey outshine the current class's people need to face rather they want them or not they are on the way and practically here on some servers.

I feel that quality is irrelevant to most servers solely because nearly every single server is the exact same, anyway. Sure, this one has this customization, and this other one has that customization, and this one has this one thing that's pretty unique! But it's still Ragnarok Online, and most people couldn't give less of a crap what server they're on as long as they can go back to masochistic grinding. I think most server admins treat their players like statistics, and considering the nature of the average player - I can't really blame them.

You might laugh at certain server projects like PokemonRO, but at least they're trying to be different. That in itself makes it more worthwhile than most other servers, which are content to facilitate the same thing everyone else is.

Same here. The last server I played, HeRO, was pretty good but I just couldn't find myself in a customised server.

Well,  if gravity doesn't even care,  why should the players?

I mean... does anyone actually agree with this no instant cast nonsense?  "renewel" is more like "slowyoudownel"   I can imagine how many long term official players were completely annoyed with this "Great" idea...  Gravity has lost their minds in my opinion ;p

Some people just prefer quantity over quality at times. Each player has his or her own preference. I believe both exist still--you just see more of those who stay on the server regardless of what it is because of their friends XD. It is hard to find a decent server these days ><. It's either that our expectations went up or that the new servers are just degraded to the point that our tastes are just not compatible with the changes. Right now, many if not most players care about numbers.

Servers have their highs and lows like with anything else. I would have to also agree that there isn't much to choose from nowadays. Probably because it feels like your getting the same thing over and over, but I'm sure its bound to change.

Sometimes a "crappy" server looks bad to you, but they have been there forever and know everyone so don't wanna leave.

I don't think a crappy server will be online long enough for a player to stay there like forever.
On the other side, there is RebirthRO...AnthemRO...well..
