Found this on a blog, awesome:

I don`t know if this belongs here, it`s somewhat related to RO.

Already heard of this, but frankly, who cares. Games will copy each other. Infact, every game is mostly some form of an older one.

Eh, but thing is, some of these sprites are actually just ripped-off recolored edits, even though, the game is F2P I don't think they could get in major hot water.

Ahh....good ol' China. The land of cheap CD players, fake PSPs, and products of plagiarized MMOs.

This is very common, but yea, copies always look worse than the original.
Despite China's 'piracy' of products, they have the best brain assets, especially for math and science. Don't think of it so badly. =/

And they invented fireworks and pretty much paved a way to many eastern asian languages (Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Cantonese), in other words, it's like thinking bad of Brazil or The Phillipines because of a group of **** from a certain country.

This is another thing that I still don't get. Why is the topic title so Japaneesy while the discussion is about a Chinese game? As far as I know, Japan rarely gets a spot in the piracy spotlight.

Dunno, but Japan does have some piracy(Not as much but still...), and I just want to throw something random, some random characters, just look at their awsomeness when they are big and in color:

Please do some research on Chinese products that are direct knockoffs of currently existing technology, only worse. It's great they invented Fireworks. However, judging by manufacturing of the last decade, they haven't had an original idea in years.

If you can find a crash video of a "Cherry QQ"(YES, that IS the name of the car), please look at it, it's China's attempt at the Chevy Aveo.

True, but there are some of them(a FEW some) which are original, I mean, the company that did Aurora Blade really looks...like amateurs, there are some other companies which are better than it, like Perfect World is a good example, it has some pretty good concepts and I have never heard anyone say bad things about it (Except those who hate MMORPGs for no reason at all).

Anyway, why more japanese?

You wouldn't want to know how big this is.

People sell bootlegged DvDs and CDs in baskets here. They walk around in restaurants and food stalls looking for customers. "Mau DvD balu bang? Manyak clear" [Want some new DvD, bro? High quality(?)]

According to Wikipedia(I think it use it too much...), the Asia/Asia-Pacific area is pretty much the hub for software-piracy stuff, anyway, piracy happens everywere, heck, back when I studied in America, this was around 7th grade, I always saw people plagiarising, some examples are one time I overheard two girls talking in the hallway and the conversation went like this:
Girl 1: These computer projects are really easy! You just need to copy and paste from the internet!
Girl 2: But the teacher did not gave me any points! What site did you copy from?

And while I was doing a Technology Advancements project in the second month of the 8th grade, I saw a kid sitting near me that was just searching, copy-pasting, search more, copy paste.

Heck, I have seen tons of computer-related fail when I was in America, like once when a girl was searching for tornadoes in google for a natural disaster project, she typed "Tornadoes not cars" in the search engine, but enough derailing this thread, according to wikipedia(Again...), piracy rates are bigger in some countries due to their enforcement

http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_sof_pir_rat-crime-software-piracy-rate
Just something relative to the topic, anyway, and in the end of the page it says "the Bush Administration has listed 14 countries which need to improve protection of intellectual property or face US trade sanctions -- the countries are Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Israel, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Turkey and Venezuela" Inotherwords, piracy does not only happen in China(even though it is a big point), and software piracy rates "should" reduce in the future, and btw, has Blizzard or Gravity sued Aurora Blade's developers yet?

EDIT: Out of boredom I pulled up some things that I made, they were made by me(I have almost no experience in this) and I made them without Photoshop, only MS Paint, and it's not even my job..., didn't turn out so bad, so I wonder why the heck did the spriter/dev of Aurora did something such...stupid, I mean, stealing skill Icons is the main epic fail...(Yes, I know spriting is hard, but I don't even have photoshop >_>)
Spoiler
[close]
EDIT2: Eh, just checked the SS Gallery, the WoW Undead looks nothing like Aurora, the skill icons look like coincidence (Come on, games tend to have dozens of skill icons, most showing sword and fangs...)
Some sprites look like a blatant rip, but I need to see them in movement to judge better

Talking about plagiarism, I had ever bumped to a site which provided free essays and papers for students to DL, print, and submit. It was when I was looking for some study tips for my school assignment (yea, the task is to make a studying guide for students with low grades). Seeing the hit and download counter, a lot of people did use it. =/ I know they provide it in purpose, but isn't that still copying?
Yes, Perfect World is a great game. Some juniors of mine are a big fan of it. But I'm not really interested in it, only saw the screenshots and watched my juniors play. Never been a big fan of MMOs; I prefer RPGs and RP boards.

Green

I ran into this quite a while ago, and had a good laugh. Maybe one of those laughs with a little disbelieving hysteria in it.
The fact that neither of the sides of the company will say anything, and just blame the other is hilarious.
Their Maya Purple one is great. It scares me.

About plagiarism in schools;
I saw kids do that in highschool. And almost always failed. Copy+pasting ruined the entire readibility of what they were "writing".
Now, in uni, you get caught once, you fail the assignment. Twice, the subject. Thrice, and no more uni for you.
