someone from RMS should make an official RO server.

RO is dying, and servers keep dying every couple of months or servers never reach above 100 population.

We need someone to create a server and try bring every server population into 1 whole server.

We're gonna need 4 types of servers; Low, Mid, High & SHR. Having everyone in 1 server would actually bring RO back to life, instead of having 39823729873291872 pservers out there. Ofc other people will bring other servers up still etc etc... but the only way it'll work properly is if RMS did it. It already has attention from ALOT of pserver players.

It can be a work in progress, but i think it'll be a good idea in the long run.

sorry if someone already made a topic about this.

Officials are crap to work if you can't pay the same as the guys from jRO because Gravity limits you too much in the creativity you want to implement and it would probably have to be a local ro where there isn't one ro company already covering it because iRO is already the International one.

If you wanted to change skills you would have to talk with the Kro devs and ask for a change exclusive to your official server and see if they would approve it and wait for the code sent by them to implement[yes, you can't do it by yourself and this was said by Heim from iRO tons of times on warp portal and irowiki forums].

If the server is making low profit and Gravity knows then they will make you do events that milk money from players or new schemes that end in the same[I think this was one of the reasons why EuRO died. EuRO administration was against it or something like that].

If you want to add an event and custom npcs you have to ask permission to Gravity first and see if they approve it.

You wouldn't be allowed too to make low/mid/high and super high rate servers since RO as we know is always low rates to milk money from players so you would get a insta deny from Gravity.

So yeah, making an official server = impossible unless you buy or pay tons of money to Gravity to get a local license lol

Making a pserver is another thing but still is hard and asks for tons of plan behind time and as much as resources. Dunno if you remember or not that roorg thing that ended into nothing after months of planning and making a new exe for ro better then the original.

There would have to be way more than 4 different servers. Some people have to have renewal, some won't even look at a server that has it. Some want things like autoloot and multiclient, some hate them. Even those who like same exp rates can have different preferences in max levels and stats, custom items, NPCs, donations, number of castles and so on... server location would also be a problem because no matter where it is, someone will have s*** ping.

Finding someone to actually do it is pretty much impossible too for various reasons, and then there's a big number of players who would never ever play a server if it's made by RMS.

Getting everyone in one huge server sounds awesome but it's just not possible to do  :-\

I'm not sure where the RO is dying thing comes from. RO still has more players than any other MMORPG in the world.

to my knowledge there is no good english speaking lowrate anymore. its possible to make one, but to be successful would require an incredible commitment. the RO decline has been where people lose the patience for grind, especially with server deaths, and goto higher and higher rates.
some move on to other games seeking a new experience, and its hard to replace them as RO is rather noob unfriendly.
private RO servers are somewhat popular in brazil and could be among other developing countries as people get computers for the first time.

Yeah, WoW isnt a real MMO!!! :o

PuffRO

the time ragnarok private server was introduced makes the world of ro dying :)

Blainn

RO is a 10+ year old game. What do you expect? See people play super mario on a family computer when you can play new games with xbox etc now?

Thoth

the time ragnarok private server was even necessary was when ro was dying

you think people would even play private servers if the official could get their s*** together?

I actually think private servers helped RO to stay alive.  That might sound wrong, but if you think about it if there were never a single private server, what would we be at this moment in time.  There were many people that first started RO in a private server.  Private server of course does not financially help the parent company (Gravity Co.), it help in keeping the game's name on the internet, on game sites for many years and many years to come.  Can't say we (private server community) didn't help to promote the game, we might have done a lot more than Gravity to promote the game.

Don't forget that some of the ideas that are at kRO were first seen at pservers =p

and official servers try to mimic high rates by adding 3rd jobs

Thoth

uhh mimic high rates? no way they'd do that on purpose, its just not a lasting or balanced experience.
3rd jobs were originally in the ragnarok manga.

many of the features they mimic are the "pay to win" sort. the more extreme it is the more the server fails in the end, storm gust 10 scrolls on a biochem anyone?

originally RO had moving hair, and unique sprites for each weapon and sheild, etc... its a real shame they went cheap and stopped doing such things.
