Your Guide To Follow?

Uhm...GMs out there who has their own server, please share your guide on how to create your own server. The latest one. Me and my brother are planning to make a server.

yeah...im reading eathena now...but the problem with those made few years ago is that they still use sakray.
now its renewal, there's conflict between the two which makes it confusing on my part. XD

Before you even consider seriously doing this I would suggest you find a full team that is willing to support you.  Find a developer that is ready to do all of the technical work for you along with at least one outside scripter.  Make sure you have $500-1000 cash ready to get going.

Even with sufficent funds and a top notch team it is way more work than you realize.

If you're dead set on making a server, for the love of god don't make it public. If you guys want your own server, set it up so that only you two can use it. Please don't release it, we don't need any more private servers. If you don't heed my advice, you'll learn the hard way.

You will realize how senseless your post just was, if you realize that the server engine that 99,999% of all servers use is called eAthena
