Title: GM/Server Logs
Post by: bobbycorwin on Jul 23, 2009, 01:46 PM
What logs can the GMs check? Message logs, item logs, drop logs, burnt logs? what can/cant they check? I'm being blamed for making items and I have no clue what they are talking about, I havent played in a month.

Item logs are a huge pile of mess, but they can check to see the last time you logged in was.

They can check the last login IP. Which would tell if someone hacked your account.

Well I have never used the in-server logs before since the screen is limited to what I can find...I use SQL logs, much better to see and search for things. What SQL does is basically records every single little action that goes on in the server [except for I think walking...] The GMs probably suspect you of duplicating is probably because you have rare/duplicated items which the SQL cannot explain how you got them. Everything leads to something if it is legit. Like it will say that you got [for example] a Thanatos card from the drop, then you put it in storage, then your other character received it from storage, then you put it in your equip, then you trade the equip with your friend, then your friend goes and stores it...on and on...If you suddenly traded a Thanatos card, and it doesn't explain how you got it, then there's a problem.

Let's see if I remember what all of it checks...basically what Serenity said as well as the database of characters with all the IDs [your character ID and Account ID], it doesn't however have passwords on it, in the character database it lists what your build is [like what your stats are...agi, dex, luk, etc] as well as who you are married to, anything dealing with your character it has. equips with how much + it has, cards, and it can list what is in your characters inventory, storage, gstorage, cart.

Not many people have access to the SQL, mainly the Admins and possibly the Head GMs or whoever else they think can use it without corrupting it. If the Admin allows it, you can edit the server through SQL, like delete items or erase history [corrupt GMs love erasing history...]

But yeah, hopefully I didn't say too much, I don't think this is a secret O.o

Basically Admins are truly "God" in his/her server. He/she knows all and sees all. /gg
