This is my first time making a Gypsy so I currently don't know a lot about them.. I was wondering if there were any changes I should make to my build or equips. Also if I could get any tips for PvP and WoE that'd be great!  :) Thanks in advance~

For PvP and WoE I have these stats.. (I have a Deviruchi so that's why the stats change. First + stat is when the Devi adds stats, second is without. These are also my stats WITH Improve Concentration).

DEX: 99 + 56 or 50
VIT: 90 + 2
AGI: 30 + 24 or 18
INT: 25 + 7
STR: 10 + 6 or 12
LUK: 1 + 2

My equips are..

Apple of Archer (+3 DEX)
Blue Butterfly Wings (+2 INT, +2 DEX)
Tights of Rejuvenation (+1 DEX, Max HP +800, HP recovery +10%)
+10 Double Bloody Double Boned Rope (Increases damage on Demi-Human by 40%, Increase damage on medium sized monsters by 30%, ATK +10)
+4 Cranial Orleans Server (MDEF +10, Reduce damage from Demi-Human monsters by 30%)
+4 Immune Wool Scarf (MDEF +4, Increase resistance to neutral property attacks by 10%)
Fledged Tidal Shoes (Increase resistance to water property attacks by 5%, HP recovery +5%, Max HP +10%, Max HP and SP +8%)
Expert Ring (Reduce after-cast delay by 5%, increase SP taken from all skills by 5%) <-- Needs Zerom card
Nimble Expert Ring (Reduce after-cast delay by 5%, Increase SP taken from all skills by 5%, +3 DEX)

Sarin

Well, I played Gypsy for some time, so I think I can help you a bit...

First, equip. Armor card isn't good...I don't make a step without having ED or Marc card. You'll find freeze protection one of most important things for PvP/WoE. Also, when you get your second zerom card, use Feather Beret instead of AoA. Use foodstuff, at least +3 dex and +3 agi, these are easy to get. I prefer having Valkyrie Shield instead of Orleans', it has great element reductions. And weapon, +4 Double Bloody Queen's Whip is the top.

And for stats, this is the build that worked great for me, listing only total stats with IC and full equip, no deviruchi or any outside buffs.

Dex:150
Agi:120
all that's left, vit. (exact number depends on your equip)

Now, tactics with it. Some will be surprised by that incredible agi, but that has it's reasons. First, Slow Grace. Learn how to quickamp via weapon switching, and Slow Grace+Tarot becomes a deadly combo for all melee characters, as well as excellent defense at emproom. Second, melee attack. It has quite low dps, but is great for breaking cast and delivering status effects (get a mes [3] with status cards and let the fun begin), again it should be used with tarot card. In fact, when enemy is potting, tarot is the only way how to kill him. But every skill has its use. AV can oneshot some weak chars like agi snipers, Throw arrow gives you good DPS at range when you need it and can be used for status inflicting, scream is great for scouting for cloaked sins and stunning low vit characters...just learn with experience when to use what skill. And one more thing....don't use white pots unless you have slim whites, farm green iguanas for aloe/hinalle leaflets, they are better when you got low carry weight. And carry some Royal Jellies too for sp/status healing.

Chimichanga

I'm quite adept with clown so i can help a bit lol. Personally, i think double bloody double boned is quite overrated. either go queen's whip or triple bloody boned. Also take into consideration of a lot of what alice said. also scream and dazzler can be your best friend for woe and i never liked aoa for woe since its huige defensive drawback-suffice with either feather beret for magic defense, or a +7 corsair/feather bonnet(4def,1agi) and continue to slowly upgrade your gear.

If your server has a reseter: depending on what your guild wants, always go for specialised builds. Let's say your guild needs AYS for champs and SP efficiency, and Lady Luck support for SS snipers. Go 90 VIT, rest INT and LUK.

If they need scream and tarot support: 90 VIT, high DEX and INT, some AGI and STR.

I say 90 VIT because I go against guilds which always have a full time screamer. Which means non-stop, pure screaming at a 3 screams per second rate. I don't think you will go up against these kind of people, so 80 VIT with Valk armor (if you can get it) -should- be more than fine.

FMN build, get a devoter and FMN the portal. Get a link too, and switch songs together with the sinx song for your fellow grimtooth sinxs, mastersmiths and LKs camping at the portal together with you. Basically its <change weapon><sinx song 1 second only><change weapon><FMN 20 seconds>, rinse and repeat.

EQ wise, Sarin is right, FB >>>>>>>>>>>>>> AoA. Except for weapon. NO AV-ing please, unless your server has low VIT squishies. Quad vital ropes are much more useful. Or if you don't have 24/7 FCP support, go for triple vital and 1 golem card. Because a gypsy is useless without weapon switching. For accessories, alligator expert rings or alligator rosaries. You don't want to get 2 shotted by AD.

Always check with your party leader or guild master the job composition for the current woe and play a suitable build. As gypsy, I have 2 more tips: always move around when dancing. If your guild precast is huge, let's say you start from the right. Activate dance and deactivate in 1 second. Move to middle portion, do the same thing. Then move to the left, rinse and repeat. Much faster this way than walking from one end to the other while dancing all the way. Of course, if you have SL, it's a different matter. Another thing is: NEVER be a hero. Don't go and do stupid things like moving out of the pack to slow grace the enemy, AV them, or w/e. If you get taken down by a sinx or focused AD fire, and the champs aren't able to kill due to the missing SP boost, you are going to be blamed, and rightfully.

Listen to orders and maintain a high level of discipline and awareness. That way, you will be a great help to the guild. I know what i'm saying, i've been playing a full support gypsy at top tier woe for 1 year now.

XileRo is the only HR I know that has a reasonable PvP system. I did watch the RWC like you said, all I see is people spamming the room like every other gang fight there is in RO.

Alice

Thanks for all of the replies! :D

I'll have to make some changes to my build and equips then.. and also practice more of the tactics mentioned. Hopefully I'll get a lot better now..

Also, when using AV on another character, wind arrows are one of the better kinds of arrows to use, right? Somebody told me this so I've been using them, but I just want to make sure.

fluidin

Yes wind would be good due to bypass of Valk shield elemental damage reduction mainly.

Some people do like to bring Dokebi armors along, so be aware of that. Another great arrow to use would be Silver arrows, not many people have Angeling card.

It does bonus damage against ED users too, which are quite common in WoE.

Do be wary that Crusaders/Palladins always have 50% Holy reduction due to Faith.
B>Positive Karma, /w offers pl0x

fluidin

Ah yes. Providence buff too.

but who the hell goes and AV tanks?

AV gets almost unusable at WoE. The dps is far too low, I prefer just taroting.

AV should only be used in special situations, like when there are frozen or stone cursed enemies, without any sinx or champs around. Then it would be alright to AV, since you probably have the highest reliable burst damage potential apart from killer classes.

If you have poem, always spam tarot. Except, like I said, if you are THE support.

Well, gypsies aren't so support type like clowns. While clowns have better support songs, Gypsy in more assault type. Better bonuses at dex/agi, and MUCH better "offensive" song. Right, you can get link, but that's quite rare, most SLs go for more usable links. And by the way, when Clown/Gypsy is linked, he/she can, with quick fingers, rotate bragi/slow grace/tarot fast enough to keep both songs in effect for all the time taroting.

Well, I personally feel that Fortune's Kiss is great for SS snipers (my guild has one full party of them when in a defense setup), and At Your Service is essential for my guild's SP creators, and full support low INT profs. You might be thinking why not just pot at the same time? Well, AYS inc SP efficiency, so you don't have to tap as much times and cramp your fingers. Furthermore, paladins like spamming Pressure. Under poem effect, mind you.

FMN is both defensive and offensive.

And, you don't need fast fingers to rotate those 3 skills so they stay in effect. My gypsy used to had to rotate AYS, luck song, poem, sinx song, and tarot (When the precast clown died). I also had to speed pot into enemy pack, FMN, and speed pot out once in a while. People actually manage to hide from 130++ DEX speed pot+cloaking champ asuras on a frequent basis too.

BTW, fast is this:
(My server recently implemented a custom script which allows ASPD to affect cast delay of some skills, we voted for that due to a desire for even faster paced woes I think..)

Observe the time at the bottom left corner of the screen and the chatbox.
(Actually, if you look at the guild with the red emblem's pack; the clown has already rotated 3 songs in that one second. Apple>poem>sinx).
EDIT: Wait, I just realised one paladin has also walked out of pack to the upper right, and finished casting devotion in that one second. That's kind of fast O.o

Once again, thanks for all of the help. :]

I'll keep that in mind about the arrows. When my guild is finally able to WoE again I'll have to bring some silver arrows along. I love getting linked because then the songs affect myself as well. :D We normally have a SL at the castle entrance so I'll have to start trying the song rotating that was mentioned.

Oh woah, the screenshot of the extremely fast song rotating is.. crazy. On the server I play, aspd doesn't affect the cast delay so it's not even close to as fast as that Clown's delay, even with bragi and two expert rings. It'd be pretty nice if it were like that for the server I play.

Oh right, I almost forgot. When we finally have a Clown on for WoE, we plan on doing some ensembles. Which ones would you reccomend getting? I know that I'll be getting Loki's Veil for sure though.

fluidin

Loki's, Harmonic Lick, Drum on the Battlefield, Invulnerable Siegfried. These are some of the more worthy ones you can consider getting. Loki is essential, of course.
