So I've got an archer with the intent of making a Hunter out of her, but I was thinking. Would a dancer/gypsy be a better character to leech?

Hunters have:
pretty much just auto-blits and blitz beat
normal build would be... an additional 1000 def ignoring damage? give or take

Snipers have:
Focused Arrow Strike/Sharp Shooting
Falcon Assault (according to ratemyserver, it's +500%. so... 5000 damage?)
I'm not familiar with the damage and spammability of these skills

Dancers have:
Sling Arrow, pathetic. Better just use a bow and Doube Straffe

Gypsies have:
Arrow Vulcan, which can one-shot a lot of low DEF monsters
Marionette Control, not an offensive skill but should help with crafting and brewing, if ever I want to do that

what do you think guys?

If you want to leech, DS is the way to go, all you've to choose is between which class and if you want higher dmg [Sniper] or using the character later for anything [Gypsy].

If you can't reset the stats through an easy way, like a npc, just go Sniper to abuse their high dex and aspd [they can get 180 dex and 190 aspd in tons of different ways] or just abuse of the -SP% items, like Ulle's cap, to use less SP items while spamming DS.

A dancer will be far more useful post-leeching if you are planning on doing anything besides PvE. Plus, a Dancer with some decent SP gear can spam DS non-stop. Between Hunter or Dancer, i'd say dancer.

The best for leeching is hunter cls and there is absolutely no space for a discussion. So as long as you limit your actions to leeching, hunter always must be your choice.

Hunter benefits:

-higher aspd coefficient at bow
-ability to use awakening pot (dancer cls is limited to concen pot)
-far higher dps by true sight and some exclusive sniper gear (sniping suit; fe)

Just look at this screen:

Used skills: IC+concen pot on clown and IC+TS+awaken pot on sniper

178 aspd means ~2.27 hits per second
182 aspd means ~2.78 hits per second
http://irowiki.org/classic/ASPD

So you basicly do 1 more hit every 2 seconds without any gear and the possibilties for sniper pve gear are much better. Ofc the aspd heavily effects ds spam.

A higher sp pool on dancer cls? lol who cares?
Lets say you farm 1hr. You kill 5 mobs per minute, lets say its mavka.

You need 7 hits on sniper and 10~11 hits on clown, lets say 10.

So 5 targets per minute means 300 per hour. 7 ds * 300 are 2100 and 10 * 300 are 3000.
2100 * 12 SP is 25200 SP per hour
3000 * 12 SP is 30000 SP per hour
Plus 80 SP for TS every minute means 80 * 60 which is 4800 SP. So we also have 30000 SP for Sniper.

So does this really matter? No, it means a s***. Because the natural SP recov depending on your int which is the same (every 6 int = 1 more sp per recov tick).

Welcome to grade 6 math.

if you need a farmer + leecher go sniper. if you need a pretty good farmer + good support go gypsy. ez

Astraeos

Sniper. You can actually clear mobs easily with Sniper as opposed to Gypsy.
