Question on High Priest.

Would a High Priest be able to tank MVPs??
If yes, what would best to use like cards?armor?weapon?
I'm not sure quite what is the difference between Armor Property and Elements Resistance...

Basically any High Level characters should be able to tank MVPs. Of course there are some easy MVPs and very hard MVPs... thats not to say, being a high level character, u can tank Ifrit and its entire slaves by yourself. Depends on your server- some servers have Customized OverPowering Gears/ players above level 99/70; and if u are high level; very likely u can tank at least the easy to moderate MVPs like Pheeroni.

Servers which mimics the original kRO
On these servers; a High Priest is traditionally seen as a tanker. With high VIT and high DEF, some decent gears and ability to heal themselves, its no wonder they make good MVP tankers. But in my opinion, they may not be the best.... I think Champions with Body Steel (which gives them 90DEf and 90MDEF) makes the best tanker. They can further be improved with Kahii (auto healing; as long as they have SP) and Devotion by a Paladdin. That should be the Ultimate MVP Tanker. Hehe.

Weapons? err... not very relevent. Coz, tankers dont normally attack the MVP. They tank, so others could attack. If Its a High Priest, maybe a Staff/Rod which helps gives +INT Bonus/Heal Bonus (not very strict)

Card/Armor = depends on MVP. Each MVP is different. They are of different race and different element. Study them and their skills.

Take for example: GARM. Brute/Water/Large
U should take a Unfrozen Armor (so u dont freeze; pray that your other party members have them too... coz, u are busy tanking and might not be able to Recovery them - depending on how good u are)
A Valkyrie Sheild with Alice Card (I think its called Royal Guardian Valk Sheild). Alice card gives u the best protection against Boss type monsters which is 40%. Valk sheild is to reduce water damage by another 20%. Alternatively u can use a Stone Buckler with Orc Warrior card (30% reduction in damage from Brute monsters and 5% reduction in damage from Large size monsters). Or some combination of the two depending on your budget.

But then again, GARM is actually not that dangerous... ; u should have Assumptio on your High Priest; so that should help alot -50% damage.

Elemental Armor?

All elemental armor are lvl1 Property. For example: If u wear a Zephy armor. Means you are lvl1 Wind Monster. 75% reduction in Wind Damage. 50% reduction in Water Damage. 25% more damage from poison. And 50% more damage from Earth element.

Element Resistance?
I am guessing u meant those card like Marse. Increase resistance against water property by 30%. Well, they dont add up. Try multiplication instead.

For example: If u wear a Zephy Armor (Dokebi card) and then a Genie Muffler (Marse card); and u get storm gust by GARM.

Damage received = 1000 (0.5)* (1-0.3) = 350
So the combination of the Zephy Armor and Genie Muffler gives u a total of 65% protection from water attack.

Disclaimer: This is a simplified illustration. The computation of Damage 1000 is more complicated. U need to consider your MDEF, and then the Monsters Magic Attack, what buff he got (is GARM is frenzy mode?)...etc..

Yes. But mostly the old MVPs. Note that the new ones are unkillable w/o a decent party and job composition, and I'm pretty sure a HP won't be able to tank them w/o some imba equips, a pro devoter, and pro support.

Alice Card would be good for MvP, thors and such. With safety wall and phen you can tank some MvP's pretty well. Reduction gears like alligator cards and long maces would also help alot.

Well.. let's put it this way. In terms of tanking, it doesn't get much better then a high priest or a steel body monk.

Paladins are better than HPs at tanking >.>
